Marble Wedding Cake, DIY Decor & Sunflowers For Charlton Hall Wedding

All things bright and beautiful this morning for this Summer wedding that's filled with sunflowers, floral bridesmaids, marble wedding cake and DIY decor ideas. A quirky country home, Charlton Hall, was the venue of choice and provided the perfect backdrop for our couple to put their own stamp on the day, with song lyrics on the cake to homemade stationery. The Bride looked stunning, wearing an Emma Beaumont lace and satin wedding dress, topped off with a gold crown and their initials embroided in the delicate sleeves, simply picture perfect!

"Charlton Hall itself is incredibly unique- we have never been anywhere else like it! The funky decor was a talking point for guests. The hall is quirky and modern, yet tasteful and elegant. Every element of the day had the Pete and Alex twist, from the groomsmen's shoes, the perspex card box and cool hip-hop evening playlist. We didn't want the 'standard' version of anything, so we made our own cake table and even had some Drake lyrics on one of our cakes. The day was scented by Jo Malone- the ceremony room smelt divine! Our guests tell us that everything about the day was just so 'us'. " - Alexandra & Peter

The guests were treated to not one, but a whole cake table made by the Bride and Groom themselves, one of these being a pretty marble wedding cake and another pink cake that included song lyrics from a Drake song, one of the many personal touches at this wedding! With a love of greenery, cacti and foliage was littered throughout Charlton Hall, with the Bride's bouquet paying homage to their love of sunflowers.

"We would describe the vibe as stylish & modern, yet romantic. We chose all the things we love and incorporate them into our day. Our house is full of plants and greenery, so we chose botanical foliage and cactus. Alex is obsessed with sunflowers, so had to have those in her bouquet. We laugh at every episode of Friends, so they inspired our 'The One With' table names. What's more, we both love marble print, hence the cake, cake table, place cards and favours. Alex is a primary teacher and loves getting creative, so we made a lot of the finer details at home. We used Pinterest to gain inspiration and put our own twist on everything to make sure it reflected us perfectly. Think pastels and perspex!" - Alexandra & Peter
