Modern marquee tent wedding inspiration with 70s theme.

My inspiration was from the 70's. Simple classic style gowns and a usual mix of retro style colours. Wanting it to be colourful, lots of colours were injected into this shoot.

MARQUEE TENT RECEPTION

The shoot took place at Ballintubbert House nestled in the Irish countryside with its 16th century church, orchard and unique circular marquee tent. Erm, could that be any more magical? (There is also a Yurt village. So yes, it could be, and is). But the magic of this shoot didn't stop with the location. The interior styling of the marquee with candle light, colourful florals and hanging flower cloud can only accurately be described as 'wow'. And don't get us started on the embroidered sides of the tent. We've never seen it before, but we hope this is the beginning of something new...

RETRO STYLE

From the vintage details in the marquee tent to the Juliet cap veil that is giving us renaissance vibes, the old meets the new effortlessly. There was a modern twist on the classic styling with the recycled jewellery and bold wedding cake. A warmth flowed from the burnt orange glassware to the dusty pink candles. Oh, and just wait until you see that last wedding dress. Did someone say fringing was back? Thank god. We've been waiting for that since... a while, okay. Basically, if there was ever a sign you needed an evening wedding dress to dance the night away, it's probably this!

Having a colour theme for your wedding can tie together old and new styles seamlessly.

Another factor I wanted to consider is sustainability, an increasingly popular demand for couples as we move forward to being more eco-eco-concious. We had edible fruits for favour and Recycled jewellery from well known brand CHUPI.

Well if you weren't convinced a marquee tent is for you, we hope this has opened your eyes to the magic and possibilities! If so, then we've got some Recommended venues with marquees & tipis you'll want to have a browse through. If it was the orange al fresco vibes that you liked then we have more where that came from! Including some orange satin bridesmaid dresses that are pure fire.
