Inspiration

Jayne & Padraig are the epitome of our ethos, Your Day, Your Way. For their 60s and 70s-style wedding, they had orange and yellow wedding flowers, that Padraig matched with his orange tuxedo. Jayne wore a boho wedding dress from Recommended supplier, Bibiluxe Studio. There was also plenty of pizza, beer men, bride and maid of honour speeches, and a donation to Dog's Trust for the favours. If you're intrigued, you should keep scrolling to see how this stunning couple did their wedding their way.

70s style orange and yellow wedding flowers

Firstly, we wanted an "un-wedding"; to go against the norms of a typical wedding as when my Dad died a few years ago, I swore I'd never get married. So we did whatever we could to deviate from the norm.

Orange and yellow wedding flowers

In terms of aesthetics, Jayne & Padraig wanted their day to represent both of them as individuals. They are both old souls and love the music of the 60s and 70s. So, they combined Woodstock's peace and love vibes with the warmth of autumn (the couple's favourite season). The overall vibe of the day was hippy, retro and luxe. Those stunning orange and yellow wedding flowers sum up the vibes perfectly and add so much to the venue. To complete the look was retro-style stationery, a camper van for transport, the groom's fun orange tuxedo and the bride's boho wedding dress. Not forgetting their gorgeous wedding cake with an in-theme cake topper, too. They definitely did things in style, which is always proven when there's a champagne-popping picture! Cheers!

Breaking traditions in the best way

The couple opted for a humanist and handfasting wedding ceremony, which they used Jayne's dad's ties for. Also in his remembrance, was a patch attached to Jayne's bouquet of a photo of the two of them with the words, "I'll never walk alone". The couple broke a few traditions including beer men instead of flower girls, who handed out beer labelled with a photo of the couple and a quote reading, "I Do Brew". Jayne's brother and best friend walked her down the aisle and there was also a bridal speech and a maid of honour speech! Jayne & Padraig's favourite moment was when the videographer and photographer surprised the couple with an 18-inch pizza during their couple portraits. Besides dogs, pizza is the second thing that brings Jayne & Padraig the most joy. We couldn't agree more!

Beer men over flower girls? We’re here for it!

Please do not stress about the colour of table cloths or font for your name cards. The little things are overlooked on the day and are not worth worrying about. If your guests have good food, great music and lots of lovely drinks they will have a ball regardless. Also, there's no need to practice soft smiles for the photographer, live your best authentic happiest life on the day and the photos will be so precious. They'll capture all the love and endless joy of your day. Finally, take time with each other on the day. Two words - SWEETHEART TABLE.
