Inspiration

Alina is originally from Cuba but now resides in Milan where she met and fell in love with Carlos. She is a ballet dancer and he is an entrepreneur and together they held an intimate orthodox wedding in Barcelona for 24 of their nearest and dearest. They look the picture of elegance in black-tie attire and dined under a canopy of chandeliers and foliage, incorporating both of their heritages with Cuban and Italian music and cuisine. For more inspiration on dining under a canopy of chandeliers, we can highly recommend viewing this Autumn inspiration at Hooton Pagnell Hall.

An intimate orthodox wedding in Barcelona with the bride in a halterneck Pronovias wedding dress.

Alina and Carlo's orthodox wedding ceremony was located outside with views of the Mediterranean Sea. The white florals with lush greenery were designed by Molist Floristes. Alina wanted to include her Cuban roots into the wedding, so the couple hired a Latin jazz band, Emi Bueno Quintet. The band played songs, from Bésame mucho to O sole Mio, a perfect mix of Cuban and Italian music which made this celebration even more special.

ORTHODOX WEDDING

In the Orthodox wedding tradition, the ceremony is composed of two services. The second is the Service of Marriage or Crowning, during which prayers are offered for the couple. The crowns of marriage are then placed on their heads, the common cup is shared, and the ceremonial walk takes place around the table.

LUXURY

This beautiful and intimate destination wedding was planned by Lidia Ruiz Wedding Planner who brought the couple’s dream to reality. For the celebration, the couple chose Masia Casa del Mar, a luxury country house in the Garraf natural park located just 30 minutes outside Barcelona. The cocktail hour was served to guests by the infinity pool where they enjoyed Mediterranean hors d óeuvres, drinks and some Iberic ham cut live.

DESTINATION

Real bride and groom, Alina and Carlos wanted to surprise their guests with an excellent family dinner. The tasting menu was specially designed for the couple so their guests could enjoy this gastronomic experience with a traditional but innovative Catalan cuisine. Guests were treated to an eight-course Mediterranean menu in the most intimate setting. Dinner included a menu of Mediterranean delicacies, from Lebanese hummus with tuna tataki to sea bass with sobrasada, pine nuts, honey and caramelized onions. The high end and incredible catering service with delicious food was made by Angels Catering.

La Masia Casa del Mar has more than 600 years of history. Its infinity pool that meets the sea was the perfect setting to celebrate a very special banquet.

Alina's dress was by Pronovias; and featured a tulle overskirt, which Alina took off after dinner and replaced with a crepe dress that showed off her silhouette. She also carried an all-white bouquet composed of long-stemmed White O'Hara garden roses which finished off her princess look perfectly.
