Inspiration

Don't you just love outdoor Summer weddings?! Blue skies, picturesque country gardens at Pennard House and an abundance of outdoor fun with your favourites, it really was the ideal atmosphere to celebrate and the couple and guests look like they are truly living their best life. I'd also very much like to tuck into the delicious looking dessert Krispy Kreme doughnut wall. Who's with me?

Pennard House Outdoor Country Garden Wedding

Lil & Jamie: We were clear from the beginning we both really wanted to have a boho, summer, outdoor wedding in the countryside. Pennard House was one of the first venues we looked at and we fell in love with it straight away, it had the exact outdoor spaces we wanted to be able to have our summer outside ceremony and amazing huge gardens for the reception. We had a pastel, gold & grey colour scheme with lanterns and flowers dotted everywhere. We bought vases of all shapes and sizes, fairy lights, lanterns and candlesticks throughout the year.

Wedding Ceremony Readings & Music

We had the buzz tones sing me down to the aisle to “It must be Love” by Madness and then they sang us back down after the ceremony to “Lovely Day” by Bill Withers. We wrote our own vows (which were weirdly similar even though we hadn’t heard or seen each other’s) and then we asked Jamie’s mum to do a reading (which she chose) and she chose ‘A Lovely Love story’ by Edward Monkton which she has slightly adapted to us as a couple and it was so touching and special. Our first dance was ‘Stand by Me’ but the Otis reading version and we got so lost in dancing & having fun that we completely forgot to invite anyone else to dance for the first song!

Doughnut Wall

Something we were both set on, which my very talented Aunty & Uncle made for us from scratch, was a doughnut wall full of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

So, did you love it? Did you notice bride Lil swapped her gorgeous bridal skirt for a pair of trousers in the evening? We thought it was genius, we love an outfit change. If you do too you should check out Bride Maria's satin number she donned for her Tango first dance. Plus take a listen to our latest Podcast Episode all about The Dress, you won't regret it.
