The Dress
Skye the Bride: Myself and Phil love to party and I needed a dress that would allow me to do just that which it most certainly did as we danced right through to 3am! I wanted a dress to shine in the sun which the intricate lace and beading detail did. The dress and veil combination reflected the Spanish setting and as I tend to wear 'sac shaped' clothes (quoted by Phil) I wanted a style that would both shock and impress him on the day, I felt it was the perfect combination of classic and sexy.
The Grooms Fashion
Having a epic tash Phil needed an epic look for the day, he took inspiration from our stylish sunny setting and opted for a 50s Gatsby inspired looked. The powder blue jacket was chosen as a clashing yet complimentary colour to the orange flowers.
Venue
Ibiza has a very special place in both myself and Phil's heart, as soon as we got engaged we knew we would marry there. We were drawn to
Atzaro naturally for its breathtaking setting but also for its spirituality and bohemian personality.
Colour Scheme/Decor
Orange to represent the 'Orange Garden' where our ceremony was held and the gold and neutrals to allow the colours of Atzaro to shine.
Myself and Phil are both creatives and it was important that this was reflected within the decor every area our guests moved onto we wanted them to feel it had our special touch. Phil's project was our table plan, a art installation of bowler hats and pictures of our guests the finished piece was fun and a real talking point.
The Wedding Party Fashion
Each of the girls and guy bring something unique to our lives, they are individual characters with individual personalities therefore each outfit needed to be different to reflect that and them. As Atzaro was a beautifully colourful backdrop in itself we felt a neutral colour scheme would work best. I also liked the idea of my bridesmaid and guysmaid being in the same colour to reflect unity and being a team.
Phil wanted to create an informal vintage feel for his guys to compliment his attire.
Ceremony
I didn't want to walk down the aisle to a traditional song, being the first music of the day we had to set the scene and tone for the day and it had to be Candi Staton's You've Got The Love' it is my favourite song ever and the words reflect how I feel about Phil being my rock - I also knew I wanted to dance down the aisle and by putting this song on it was guaranteed that this would happen.
Entertainment
Nell our acoustic singer during the drinks reception was awesome - she played the best eclectic mix and had everyone singing and dancing straight away. We knew at this point that our guests were game and our wedding was going to be a party to remember!
Food
Atzaro's catering was hands down one of the best food we have ever tasted. Canapes at the drinks reception were more like mini meals. The Tuna Tarte melt in your mouth and hotdogs at the end of the evening so needed and so very delicious.
Photographer
Maureen was amazing she understood our desired style and got stuck in with the guests capturing those key and memorable moments. She immediately put us at ease and there was many a time when we forgot that a photographer was there, she was more like a guest which to us is the best type of photographer.
Videographer:
Similar to Maureen,
Garry put us at ease and got stuck in, he knew the island very well so we felt in very safe hands. He managed our guests very well - which is a tough job as they are a crazy bunch - we are really excited to see the results.
Advice
Create a day that is for you both and not just your guests they are there because they love you and want to experience what you love to experience.
