The exclusive use of Plas Gwynfryn in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales sets the scene for this deliciously layered boho wedding. Carla Blain's signature dark and moody, tonal teasing delights are well suited to the natural boho vibes of this special day...complete with a photoshoot on the very beach the proposal was made! Carla Blain Photography from RMW The List; "I live for windy adventures, gritty textures, and devilishly romantic love stories." From the beginning, with stationery from Fig + Fern, another RMW The List member, to the face painting photobooth and jazz musicians at the end, the day was a glittery feast for the couple and their guests.
Laura The Bride: Plas Gwynfryn in Snowdonia National Park - A beautiful and private house set in the prettiest of gardens, in a village that I have been obsessed with since the age of 5! I had dreamed of getting married here, and after meeting with Caroline to discuss logistics, I told myself we would make it happen somehow. Both mine and Alvy’s family stayed in the house the night before and the night of the wedding. It was exciting having to hide from my husband to be when walking around the house, and I will always remember the beautiful bridal suite where my bridesmaids and myself got ready on the morning of the wedding.
After searching high and low for wedding dresses, I felt disappointed. I couldn’t find anything to fit my style or a dress that I would feel comfortable in. Until I came across AlexVeil Bridal, based in Russia. Friends and family told me buying a dress off Etsy was too risky, however, it was literally the best thing I ever did. I am truly in love with my wedding dress and cannot thank Elaine enough for being patient with me, and listening to my requests, such as making tiny alterations to the original design. I had my eye on a draped, boho styled veil from Noon and the Moon who is based in Canada. Leaving things very last minute, I ordered this a week before and Felicite promised me that I would receive this before leaving to travel up to North Wales. I received the veil the day before and fell in love. The prettiest and softest veil ever, which perfectly matched the top of my wedding dress.
Carla was fabulous from the word go. I love her quirky style, sense of humour and ability to put everyone at ease (and be a ninja!!!). Carla followed us up to the next village, where we had a photo shoot on the beach where Alvy has proposed to me. We literally had the best fun and it was a perfect chance for me and Alvy to grab some time together before partying back at the reception with all our lovely guests! I literally cannot wait to see our photographs!
Anna at Fig & Fern Studio was absolutely amazing at creating all of our wedding stationery. We wanted to add a personal touch to the stationery. It featured water coloured cartoon-style figures of myself, Alvy, plus our lucky black cat, Lily! The finer detail on the figures was fabulous, with Alvy even having stubble added to it! I will forever treasure these in my memory box.
Purchased from Stephanie at Pebble and Peach Ltd, where I got to choose tiny swabs of different fabrics to have wildflower seeds hidden in them for all our guests. I absolutely loved this idea as it fitted well with my wildflower theme. I have since had lots of guests say that they have already planted theirs, which makes me happy!
