When Bex & Alex tied the knot, it was anything but ordinary. Known for their “extra” personalities, the couple threw a wedding that was a full-blown celebration of colour, energy, and unapologetic fun. From a pink floral wedding dress to an après-ski-inspired party vibe, their day was packed with surprises, sass, and champagne sprays. Not to mention, capturing their wedding video was the incredible Recommended Supplier, Alchemist Design & Film!
Honestly, our favourite moment was truly stepping back and away for 20 minutes, just us, sitting on a bench soaking in the moment, the day and looking at the wedding from afar. It wouldn’t have been our day without our son, seeing him in his suit, watching him walk down the aisle with his auntie and him standing in between us as we got married.
Bex & Alex
Bex & Alex’s vision for their big day was clear from the start: “Colourful, glam, and fun!” And boy, did they deliver. The couple’s love of skiing and après-ski afternoons served as their inspiration. Think vibrant flowers, Ibiza tunes, and non-stop entertainment. Bex stunned in a bespoke House of Savin wedding dress adorned with pink flowers paired with fabulous bright pink Jimmy Choo heels. Of course, no “extra” wedding is complete without an entertainment lineup to match. A live saxophonist (Bex’s uncle, no less) kicked off the ceremony, while the singing waiters brought a surprise performance that left everyone in stitches. And when the band hit the stage, complete with a live sax player, the dance floor became a high-energy, après-ski haven. Champagne flowed, rosé was poured, and the vibe? Pure party from start to finish.
It’s not often that flowers get a standing ovation, but Kat (Haze Lea), the couple’s florist and dear friend, delivered an absolute masterpiece. “The flowers completely brought the wedding alive,” says Bex. Bright pinks and bold hues filled every corner of the venue, perfectly matching the couple’s vision. The photos are stunning, bursting with contrast and colour. Speaking of colour, let’s talk about that dress. Or, to be precise, those dresses. Bex originally bought a classic A-line gown in a sale, only to realise it wasn’t quite ‘The One’. After a solo trip to White Lace and Butterflies (to avoid being influenced by opinions), she found her dream dress by House of Savin! It was love at first sight. The only hiccup was keeping the price tag a secret from Alex, but we have no doubt that was forgotten as soon as he saw Bex in said dress.
While Bex & Alex prioritised their guests’ enjoyment, they made sure the day stayed true to what they wanted as a couple. Their venue, though lacking on-site accommodation and children’s facilities, stole their hearts. With some creative adjustments and flexible guests, it all came together perfectly. The couple’s advice for other brides and grooms? “Make your big decisions based on what you want, not just what’s best for your guests.” Wise words, indeed.
Spend money on the things that you think will give you peace of mind. An example of this is the wedding crèche and nanny service, so many people advised us not to spend money on this but we are incredibly glad we did just so we knew our son, Oscar, was happy, having fun and we were able to enjoy the day without worrying.
