I’m Jen, the heart and hands behind Edible Essence, a cake studio rooted in the belief that beauty can be found in simplicity, that flavour tells a story, and that cakes can be both soulful and unforgettable. Covering South West England and London
Pre pandemic, I was fully immersed in the wedding scene, crafting award-winning creations that traveled nationwide. A brief step back reminded me of my passion for baking. I realised I wanted to create from the heart, not chase trends or volume. Now, Edible Essence operates at a gentler pace, focusing on timeless elegance, natural beauty, and nostalgic flavours. My designs incorporate soft textures, real florals, and seasonal elements, always prioritising flavour and simplicity. My cake passion comes from my mum and nan, both devoted bakers. My mum baked until she fell poorly, selling cakes at the Country Market and filling her home with sweetness. She recently passed away, but her spirit lives on in my kitchen. Inspired by her nostalgic classic coffee cake, I crafted my own version as a tribute, which now holds a special place on my menu. My nan’s legacy continues in my Hazelnut Praline cake, a flourless German recipe she taught me. Lets celebrate life’s moments with every bite!
