Is the venue accessible for wheelchairs?

The barn main hall is accessible & there is an accessible WC conveniently located through the cloak room. The manor house is unfortunately a bit tricky with wheelchair access, as there are about 3 steps to get to the ground floor of the house. I think if you come and see you can make your own mind up on if it will work for you and your guests.

Do I need to hire tables & chairs?

We do not supply tables & chairs. You can hire these from Eden Event Hire. This is so you can choose from their beautiful range & have the flexibility that is so important for your unique Holesfoot wedding!

Do I need to hire a wedding planner/co-ordinator?

I recommend a wedding host / planner / co-ordinator to run the day if its within your budget (please see suppliers list for contacts). I will always be here on site overseeing and making sure things are running smoothly & helping where needed. However, I am not a qualified co-ordinator & am very new to the world of weddings. The caterers will need to manage their food timing and service themselves. I recommend, especially if you haven’t got a professional coordinator, to allocate jobs to ushers/best man/bridesmaids to round up the troops, someone to perhaps be an MC on the microphone, as it can be like herding sheep sometimes with large groups! Having said this, we would still love a copy of all of the timings and run of your events so I can make sure that myself & my little team are able to help as much as possible!

What does your team take care of on the day?

Our team will be on hand to take care of things such as: The bar, glass collecting, moving chairs/tables/props around from ceremony/reception/dinner/evening transitions, security, greeting the registrars/celebrant, making sure your bedroom is fresh for your arrival back later on, reception drinks service if we are suppling these for you.

Is there any outdoor furniture at the venue?

Our outside furniture consists 2x 10 man teak tables & 20 chairs. We also have some picnic benches & whiskey barrels. You can play around with these and move them wherever you like. Eden Event Hire have loads of other lovely options for this too. Including beautiful benches & teak chairs for an outdoor ceremony in our Italian garden

What deposit would I need to pay to confirm my booking?

In order to secure your dates with us, we ask for 30% of the total amount as your deposit to be paid on confirmation. 6 months prior to your wedding day we will require another 40%, & the final 30% will need to be paid 3 months prior. We will send reminder emails when these payments are due. We also ask for a damage deposit of £1500 to be paid the week before the wedding that you will receive back the week after your wedding, minus any damages. We will send you a contract with our terms and conditions in with the initial invoice which you must sign and send back before your booking is confirmed.

How do I book my on site ceremony?

If you would like to get married legally on site, you will need to contact the Cumbrian registrar team to book in your ceremony. My advice is to make sure that there is a registrar available even before you book your venue! As your chosen time/dates may have already been filled their end. If you are set on a date here & are struggling to get your chosen slot, there is a beautiful church just down the road in the village of Crosby Ravensworth, or you can arrange a celebrant for the ceremony (see suppliers for amazing contacts for this type of ceremony), and the signing of the legal docs can be done when the celebrant is available. What time does the party have to end?

We are lucky enough to have no nearby neighbours, making Holesfoot the perfect place to keep on partying in the accommodation with your own music even after your Band/DJ have said goodnight! The barn doors will be locked by 01:30, last orders 01:00

is there any flexibility on check in times?

The barn ready for you from midday on your arrival day, so you can start setting up for your big day 4 hours before checking in to the accommodation.

What's the deal with ceremony/wedding breakfast set up & decor?

Tables, chairs & decorations will not be provided. There are plenty of plug sockets & hanging spots to be able to dress the barn however you like. Your initial set ups before you’re all suited and booted are your responsibility. Whether that’s a ceremony set up in the garden & dinner set up in the barn, or just your ceremony set up in the barn. We will need layout instructions & one table set up in the cloak room for us to copy if we are turning around the barn from ceremony to wedding breakfast on the day.

Can you tell me more about the bar and drinks packages?

-Card is preferred, but cash is also accepted. Starting tabs/ putting money behind the bar are also do-able. -Our day time drinks package is £30 per head for 6 drinks- this usually consisting of 2 glasses of Prosecco for reception drinks, 1 glass of fizz at the table for toasting, & 3 glasses of wine (1/2 bottle) at the table. -Post ceremony reception drinks- if you do not use our drinks package & would like your own alcohol, we charge £300 extra to store, set up, serve & dispose of your bottles. -Wedding breakfast: there is no corkage for your own table wine or fizz up to 1/2 bottle per person plus one toast glass. Beer & spirits must be ordered from our bar. If you would like table service during your wedding breakfast you will have to ask your caterers, this will likely be an additional cost. (This is just to avoid the overlap between Holesfoot staff & catering staff. No stepping on anyones toes so to speak!). -Evening do: You must use our bar only after your wedding breakfast. If you would like specific drinks then please let us know in advance & we will be happy to stock up for you! We have 2 spare hand pulls for your cask ales of choice. -Our alcohol license allows us to serve until 01:00

What is included in the venue price?

The Venue Includes: * Ceremony room of your choice- we have marriage licenses for the Old Barn Main Hall (120pax) & the Italian Garden Terrace (120pax). You are able to hold your ceremony anywhere in the grounds, therefore the walled garden or the woodlands are also lovely options. The Long Room in the Manor House is also licensed for very intimate ceremonies. * Old Barn Main Hall 120pax dining, + 40pax in the bar if necessary. 160pax for evening * The Long Room - 30pax dining * Underfloor heating throughout the barn & bar & additional plumbed-in heaters. * Lighting (with a decorative option of a starry night sky effect on the main hall ceiling) * Ladies & Gents Toilets & cosy under croft rooms downstairs * Cloak room and disabled toilet * Fully stocked and licensed bar with tea and coffee making facilities and 3x spare hand-pulls for cask ales of your choice. * Bar staff * All Glassware * Catering space. 6x6m with a hand washing sink, power plugs, extraction, trestle tables & plenty of space for them to set up their own equipment (any washing up must be done off site). Wireless PA microphone & projector screen included. * Parking for up to 60 cars. * 20 acres of formal gardens and grounds including; The Walled Garden, Italian garden, BBQ lawn, Croquet lawn, Pond & wildflower meadow, woodland, brook, meadows, 5-a-side football/volleyball pitch & a rounders arena up on the hill! All equipment included for your use. You are welcome to set up & use these areas as you wish (drinks receptions, fire pits, BBQ’s, games, activities) * The walled garden is our most popular option for post ceremony reception drinks. For an additional cost of £250, we do have an awning that covers this area in case of rain/excessive heat from the sun, this can be installed upon check in with the help of a couple of willing guests. * A flat area designated for a large marquee option. This area can also be used for outdoor catering, football, or volleyball. * The bar may be available for your exclusive use for any part of your stay if requested & agreed at least 2 months beforehand. Fancy a pianist, a string quartet, singer/guitarist? Do it! There is so much space for activities such as garden games, rounders, archery or axe-throwing to spice up the day’s events. Why not have a photoshoot around the pond surrounded by a wildflower meadow with the magnificent house as your backdrop? Choose from an abundance of epically beautiful nooks and crannies, indoors and outdoors, to create that wedding album you will never forget. Move into the Barn, the Long Room, or even outside, for your wedding breakfast. In the barn the rustic stone walls, huge oak floorboards, and wrought iron chandeliers create the perfect setting for your beautiful touches to really stand out and complement the setting. The superbly high ceilings and windows, the huge glass entrance porch, and the beautiful stained-glass window all allow natural light to flood in. Likewise with the Long Room, the intricately carved wooden panelling, and pillars, along with the divine floor to ceiling windows, create the perfect setting to complement any decor. The Italian Garden Terrace is a Holesfoot ceremony favourite. Weather dependent, it is an absolute must-do and will leave you and your guests covered head to toe in goosebumps having witnessed something so stunningly romantic. Our dream wedding!! Holesfoot is a hidden gem in the Eden Valley that gave us our dream Italian style wedding! Liv and James were the best venue suppliers we could have wished for, completely letting us put our own spin on our day which was so important to us. Their staff were also incredible and never left a flute empty which led to very happy guest! One of the luxuries of Holesfoot is the ability for the wedding party to stay on site in the beautiful Holesfoot House so you can really drag out the wedding celebrations in style. The attention to detail in the house and barn is amazing and you can really see how much time and effort Liv and James have put in to create this beautiful venue. We had our ceremony in the beautiful Italian gardens and it was a little slice of heaven. You have so many lovely options of where to get married around Holesfoot and Liv and James are completely committed to helping you create your dream wedding day. It’s perfect for fun loving couples who want the romantic yet fun vibes to their day. Beautiful Holesfoot. We had the most amazing wedding day and it is honestly down to the generosity of them both. We really felt like we could just be and do what we wanted and just enjoy absolutely everything holesfoot had to offer without a worry. We got married in the beautiful long room and the detail in that room is second to none. the colour of the walls and the beautiful wooden beams make the room so special and it feels very church like also, which we loved. Our ceremony was followed by drinks and dancing in the barn gardens with canapes and a live singer. We followed this through to the wedding breakfast in the barn followed by our evening reception. We spent the rest of the weekend at holesfoot which was so much fun. We had a big family BBQ the next day on the BBQ lawn, played croquet, relaxed in the sunshine and played on the rope swing many more times. We had so much fun and it was so lovely to spend that time with friends and family. We couldn't recommend doing that more, it really felt that we added that extra special something to our wedding and it kept the excitement going as we really didn't want to go home. The details are just stunning, and we loved that we felt a million miles from home and we loved how private it was too. We will never forget what James and liv did for us and our families. We had such a wonderful time and will cherish it for years to come.

Simply the best, better than all the rest. My wife and I got married here at the end of August, and it was honestly one of the best days we have ever had. James and Liv's attention to detail and their relaxed confident approach helped put us at ease. They are very flexible with ideas and love to try new ideas at the venue. We had archery and axe throwing which apparently was a first but went down an absolute treat with everyone. They helped coordinate everything on the day meaning we didn't have to worry about anything or lift a finger. The venue and accommodation is genuinely amazing and very well finished.
