Inspiration

The delightful yellow and blue colour scheme of this inspiration shoot at Hampstead Heath has made me want to dance around meadows with not a care in the world. Prooving that bold really is beautiful and that colour really does lift the spirit. You'll be forgiven for thinking you're in a fairytale with the whimsical vibes and dreamy princess gowns worn by the two brides.

VISION

The styling was inspired by the ephemeral dragonflies, their light movements, delicate features and fleetng nature. These creatures are also the epitome of finesse and femininity.

FLEETING DRAGONFLIES

The English flower garden of the Pergola at Hampstead Heath, with its dense climbing vines and vegetation became a perfect backdrop for this intimate story. The delicate blooms, fluttery petals of the florals and light, sheer silks of the dresses evoke the delicate and airy quality of the dragonfly wings. We also took our cue from the surroundings and added more grounded elements, such as mosses, mushrooms and ferns, as well as rich fabrics. Velvets helped to create layered space full of surprises, with almost fairytale-like feel. - Andreea Bucur

Yellow and Blue Colour Scheme

I've always favoured a yellow and blue colour scheme. The blue echoes clear skies and the yellow the warmth of the sun. Instantly reminding you of sunny days enjoying time outside with loved ones. The Pergola at Hamstead Heath made the perfect location for these two brides to portray their love for one another, and show off their ethereal gowns full of delicate tulle and applique details. Add some dappled light and captures by Inna Kostukowsky and you have the perfect inspiration to swoon over.

STYLING

With the modern couple in mind, we chose contemporary furniture and props. We created a comfortable safe space for them to enjoy each other and feel relaxed. The cakes have both modern and ethereal look that highlights movement. The gorgeous abstract interpretation of the lightness and fluid movements of the dragonflies is complemented by the watercolour painting on the invitation suite. We aimed to focus on fluidity, transparency and movement with an overall modern and clean look, as well as few timeless touches. By capturing natural movements to convey an authentic feel, we wanted to show the delicate interaction between the couple and joy and calmness that one feels once committing to their loved one. - Andreea Bucur
