Inspiration

The flowers at this Blairquhan Castle wedding are simply breathtaking. A mixture of 4 different cultures (Jewish, Scottish, Welsh and Christian) meant there were so many exciting parts to the day. The ceremony space looked truly stunning with the foliage and floral installations surrounding the couple as they said their vows and ghost chairs to allow the flowers to be centre of attention. Following this was a beautiful, cosy wedding breakfast littered with white floral arrangments, green glassware and romantic candles. The bride herself too looked beautiful, in a Suzanne Neville dress finished with a low ponytail tied in a delicate ribbon as she became wife to her traditional kilt-wearing husband. The guests were entertained by one of our brilliant handpicked suppliers - The Wedding DJ - along with a traditional ceilidh band! And can we take a moment to appreciate the amazing white and gold wedding cake, all six tiers of it!

What Made Your Day Unique

"Our day was a hybrid of Welsh/Scottish/Jewish/Christian traditions all that held meaning to us. We were so chilled in the planning process and this didn't waiver. We never lost sight of the purpose of the day which was to get married. Everything else was a bonus! We are one of the last couples in our friendship groups to get married, we have seen it all: The super stressed, completely consumed couples and the chilled ones. We learnt off the chilled ones and it paid off, we owe them a drink!"

Blairquhan Castle

Blairquhan Castle was the only venue this couple looked at, they knew with the right styling and decor it would be the absolutely perfect place for them to celebrate with their friends and family. And they were right, the traditional Scottish castle decorated in the white flowers and foliage arrangements made for a gorgeous day and super backdrop to the nuptials.

Inspiration & Styling

"RELAXED! We wanted a venue close to Glasgow so elderly relatives could attend easily, we wanted all guests to stay on site, so people could really let their hair down! Blairquhan was the only venue we looked at, it ticked all of those boxes. The venue itself lends itself to classic styling so we took that and ran with it. Everything else about the day was relaxed, a pub quiz after the ceremony whilst watching the six nations, a comforting Italian meal at the reception, pizza van at night. "
