If you are on the fence about destination weddings, go for it! It gives your friends and family a great excuse to travel together and make a trip out of it.
It felt like a true celebration of us by the families we are given and the families we've chosen, which is exactly what I want a wedding to be. We deliberately chose to have a small-sized destination wedding so that all the guests were families or close friends. They had travelled from four different continents to get together. Some of them hadn't seen each other in 10 years. It was a perfect reunion.
We didn't do a 'first look'. So we saw each other for the first time at the altar which was quite emotional. We also loved all the speeches given by our wedding party at dinner all of which were very touching and genuine. The party afterwards gave us the most fun. Many of our guests including us are EDM fans. So naturally, we had our friends be the DJ and turned the party into our own rave concert. Best decision ever.
