My oh my. Where on earth do we begin with a beautiful Muslim bride like Ahsen? We absolutely love how this couple incorporated their Islamic beliefs within a largely English wedding. The classic elegance that simply exudes from each part of this glorious day is just giving us life! Ahsen’s fitted lace gown works perfectly with her hijab veil and statement earrings. We also love the mismatched bridesmaids gown in different shades of green (the brides favourite colour). Oh, and let’s take a moment to appreciate the white hanging wisteria - which works perfectly as the backdrop for those post-wedding photos.

Only our most intimate circle was there which is unlike a traditional Turkish wedding. We got to enjoy every moment of our day in a relaxed manner with our family and friends, whilst upholding our religious values.
SUPPLIERS
We prioritised finding the venue. We were both in love with the Old Kent Barn, which triumphed over all the other Kent venues we saw on the same day. Our florist and photographer were recommended suppliers of the venue, and we can see why! I found the bridal bouquet from research online. Seeing a hijab-wearing bride on their instagram gave me reassurance that they might be able to accommodate my religious needs. Sure enough, they were wonderful! They put me in touch with their recommended seamstress who beautifully transformed the dress to meet my modesty needs.
ADVICE
You can absolutely pick and mix parts of different cultures that you identify with! We had a largely English wedding whilst maintaining our Islamic observations (e.g modesty is an important element of our faith. Intimacy is something to be enjoyed privately for us. So, the kisses we shared in the company of our guests involved Burhan kissing my forehead, which was so sacred and special).
We love how a minimalist colour-scheme can still look so incredibly vibrant. This wedding is the perfect example of that!
I was very anxious about not being able to find a wedding dress within my budget that could be transformed to meet my modesty needs. However, my seamstress was amazing in altering the Anna Georgina dress I got from Morgan Davies to make me look like an absolute swan!
