Inspiration

Everything about this Carmen de los Mártires, Spanish destination wedding is enchanting. The 19th century palace located at the foot of the Alhambra was the perfect backdrop for Eva & Jacopo's celebration. They incorporated 1920s decor, lots of food and wine and cotton handkerchiefs embroidered with their names to capture all the tears of joy. We should probably mention Eva's gold, sparkly dress too - a front slit, low back, and detachable sleeves beautifully designed by the bride's friend. Breathtaking!

The natural vegetaion at Carmen de los Mártires made the venue look like it had been adandoned for many years. We wanted it to look like a forest, but with a chic edge. As we are both big fans of the 20s, we also included touches of art nouveau decor.

Eva & Jacopo

Carmen de los Mártires

Although Eva & Jacopo aren't from Granada, this is where they met for work and fell in love. They invited all their family and friends from France and Italy to join them in their celebration at Carmen de los Mártires. As Eva & Jacopo are huge foodies, they also hired their caterer from Italy, who brought along their truck full of food and materials to prepare their banquet. My mouth is watering just at the thought - wait until you see the pictures!

Bespoke Wedding Dress

Where do we even start with Eva's sparkly, gold wedding dress. Firstly is was made by Eva's best friend Mercedes Mercado. What a friend, and what a talent! The brief was a shiny, elegant but sensual dress with and open back and a touch of the twenties. Together they chose the fabric, and then Mercedes worked her magic with the design. It is most definitely a dress of dreams, and looks perfect at the enchanting wedding venue.

To quote Rhianna, "shine bright like a diamond," or as we now like to say, like Eva in her sparkly dress.

We have had a long time to organise the wedding and didn't always agree on everything. Our advice is to meet halfway, and make compromises, because no one will notice if you have a tiffany chair instead of a cane back one, they just want to see you happy.
