We are feeling all the love at this intimate family wedding. Laura & Ricardo were married in a small ceremony with just friends and family. Due to her father’s terminal illness, Laura planned her wedding in just 8 days, ensuring the venue was no more than 30 minutes away from the hospital in which he was staying. Colshaw Hall was the perfect location, providing a beautiful backdrop for their romantic family wedding; complete with a gorgeous ceremony room, filled with hanging flowers and rustic beams. We absolutely love their post-wedding pictures, which totally capture their strong family bonds and love of each other.
The Wedding Venue
My dad was terminally ill (stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to his brain in a short space of time), and had roughly a few weeks to live. I was advised by the medical professionals to get a wedding booked in as soon as possible, otherwise he may not make it. So, it became my ultimate mission to sort all the arrangements. I planned the wedding in 8 days, and needed to find a venue that was no further than 30 minutes away from the hospital in which my dad was staying, as he was medically only let out for a few hours. I needed a small and intimate venue, but still wanted the beautiful setting to cherish these photos for ever. Colshaw Hall fit that perfectly.
Let’s face it, your big day should be shared with your nearest and dearest. In fact, your wedding should be 100% all about the love. A small and intimate family wedding is something to consider if you’d like to say your vows sooner rather than later! You can then look to organising a bigger party further down the line. Remember, it’s your day, your way - never allow the influence of others to hinder what you truly want!
