Romance in Walled Garden

One of the great joys about the British countryside is the natural splendour of our wildlife, history and gardens. This really comes into its own around springtime and I wanted to showcase how beautiful Spring in the UK can be, particularly our gardens. I adore country gardens and flowers and particularly in a historical context and venue. Notley Abbey, which dates back to the 12th century, lends itself perfectly for this; with its ruins, beautiful stone walls and historic Monks Refectory where you can host your wedding breakfast in spectacular surroundings. Naturally, with the great British weather, it’s impossible to predict what it has in store for your wedding day and so, with this in mind, I wanted to bring together a garden feel and look; classical and romantic in style, that you could bring inside and feel like you are outside.

Flowers & Styling

Naturally, to create such a look, flowers are always going to be important. The beautiful gardens at Notley Abbey provided a bountiful display but to enhance this and bring an English country garden feel inside, Lily’s flowers created gorgeous centrepieces for the tables and a bouquet using wild, rustic and romantic displays. Stunning peaches, pinks and corals bring vibrancy and energy to the look and work perfectly this year with the coral Pantone. Peonies were a central feature in the display, perfectly in season for spring. To bring everything to life and to capture the essence and detail, Hannah McClune worked her magic, working in a very fine art style, creating light and stunning images to enhance the beauty that was on display.
