Inspiration

I think I've actually died and gone to heaven. This destination wedding ticks all the boxes. Stunning location, perfect couple and immense style and elegance. Bride Grace, who is quite aptly named, looks a vision in a long lace sleeved gown from Morgan Davies Bridal, as does her groom Robert in a light blue Suit Supply suit, braces and bow tie combo. The curved reception table, festoon lights, and delicate blush blooms are giving me all the feels, as is the Vespa and vintage car our gorgeous couple arrived at their church ceremony on. Romeo and Juliet Weddings certainly know how to add all the pretty. Now are you sitting comfortably, then I'll let you transport yourself into this dreamy day and pore over the gorgeous captures by D&A Photography and film by Ben Walton Films.

The Wedding

Dan the Photographer: Borgo Stomenno is set deep within the Tuscan hills, an hour and a half from Pisa airport through beautiful towns and windy streets with miles and miles of beautiful scenery, for me as a photographer, this was very exciting. As you approach the stunning Borgo, you are greeted by an archway of huge trees that lead you all the way to the house which sits on top of a hill overlooking miles of rolling hills filled with olive trees. You can literally smell the freshness in the air. The building holds so much character and is beautifully lost in our time, keeping so much of it's beautiful charm from years gone by.

Couple

Having never met Grace & Robert, I arrived a day early to catch up with them and I was met by two of the most pleasant and friendly faces you could imagine. Childhood sweethearts holding hands and very much in love. Both beautiful inside and out, I was just really excited to be part of this!

The Day

The weather could not have been more perfect, we expected a huge thunderstorm and plenty of rain, but instead were gifted with stunning sunshine, and one of the most moving sunsets, I have ever witnessed.

Fashion

Grace was very particular about her dress, choosing to actually design her own! Lace that covered down to her hands, and one of the largest veils I have seen this year! She was class personified, while Robert, wore a slim fitting Blue suit from Suit Supply along with braces and a cool polka dot bow tie from Boggi Milan.

Special Moments

The day flew by in a minute, and I spoke to Grace & Robert and they just kept saying how overwhelmed they were by everyone turning out from the UK and how wonderful it was to have everyone together. Albeit their grandparents who were unable to attend.

Transport

Robert and his best man arrived at the church on Vespas, could you get anymore Italian! While Grace and her dad arrived in a classic Alfa Romeo which Robert drove back to the venue with Grace in.

Food

The food was classic and sophisticated, and everyone enjoyed their meal under the tea lights that hung in the trees.

Party

The couple finished the night off with a beautiful first dance and an outside party under the stars. I hear they all jumped in the pool around 5am however I only managed to stay till 3am!

After Party

The following day, around midday their was a big pool party for all the guests to have lunch and catch up, all the vendors, suppliers and team involved were invited, which goes to show you once again just how lovely Grace & Robert are as people.

Photography

As a photographer, I have seen lots of stunning weddings all over the world but by far this is one of the most beautiful weddings I have shot. Grace & Robert were so much fun and so chilled to be around, we had such a good time just hanging out and capturing the day. The styling of the reception was on point too, the table's were so beautifully constructed and the place just looked fantastic.

Final Thoughts

All in all, one heck of an experience, one hell of a day and one of those weddings that leaves you saying, "did that really just happen!?" I was absolutely blown away by Grace & Robert's wedding, as a photographer, they were so much fun to be around, so willing for photographs and you could just feel how much they enjoyed the entire day. I don't recall hearing any grumbles about anything at all. They really were so great to be around and I am already planning my next trip to Tuscany for a holiday!
