Inspiration

Jennika and Jamie had their stylish Indian British wedding in Sheffield. Where they met. They chose a location that allowed them to envelop their guests in their love story. Visiting their favourite park via open-top bus, blasting their favourite songs they took their guests on a journey that culminated in a wedding breakfast to be remembered. Their Hindu celebration was designed to perfection. And there was a surprise guest who arrived moments before their ceremony began.

A wedding where all the details mattered, designed by Indian British couple Jennika and Jamie

Bringing together our Indian heritage, passion for architecture and finer details, our day really came to life in such a special way. We loved walking in the peak district monthly, therefore adding a surprise trip to the hills on an open-top bus was incredible. The sun came out, we blazed tunes from old school desi hits to Mumford and Sons all the way back to 99 Mary Street!

Understanding suppliers

Coming from a design background it was important to have suppliers who took a high level of care and detail, therefore I took a lot of time looking at my suppliers work to make sure it was the right fit for us. We were incredibly lucky everyone we worked with was phenomenal. Due to the pandemic and not having wedding insurance it was so important to keep a limited amount of suppliers. Every key supplier was incredibly understanding, patient and open to what we wanted.

An Indian British celebration

Indian, vintage but rustic! We wanted to bring the bold vibrancy of India to an industrial setting. We did this through designing with our florist bold floral tones against brass and gold elements. We loved the rustic style of wood and using old beer bottles with flower stems. We chose carefully to use contrasting tones to make a bolder effect, our engagement photographs in wooden frames and greenery to decor elements such as the bar but still allowing our guests to appreciate the beauty of the gallery.

Our bridal reveal was lovely and seeing our venue come to life before everyone arrived was special.

Compromise where needed but do not lose sight of your vision - it is your story to tell and how you want to portray it. Everything will turn out as beautifully as you imagine!

We were sadly missing close family, but the bride's cousin flew from America as a surprise and arrived minutes before the ceremony! Only Neal would take an uber on the morning of our wedding from London to Sheffield! It made our wedding complete.

All in the details

Our photographers Rosie and Fraser - All we can say is wow! Rosie kindly offered a complimentary photoshoot as Jamie is a NHS doctor. They were such beautiful photographs we framed them and decorated our wedding venues with them. Both photographers come with the most lovely professional attitude and we are overjoyed with how beautiful our wedding photographs are. Our florist Kath - Kath was just as excited for our wedding as I was when showing her the design mood boards 12 months prior! We are so grateful for working with a fantastic independent local business and putting our trust in her.

If you're an Indian Bride looking for more inspiration for Hindu celebrations you can use our diversity filters to find similar weddings to Jennika and Jamie's. We loved Priya and Rahul's Hindu fusion wedding and Niraj and Sejel's bright ceremony.
