Inspiration

It's time to head north for some autumn inspiration at Lake District wedding venue Hidden River Cabins. Featuring our favourite warm hues, twinkly candlelight and sumptuous fabrics. It's the perfect comfort for this cold winters day.

Vision

Autumnal wedding inspiration at new Lake District wedding venue, Hidden River Cabins. Set deep in the secluded countryside, surrounded by rivers and woodland.

Inspiration & Styling

Myself, and florist, Sarah at Olive Owl Flowers, really wanted to utilise the beauty of the venue, and bring the outdoors in, creating a natural transition using rust colours, seasonal autumnal foliage, and rust coloured fresh and dried florals. The towers Sarah constructed were wild, unstructured, and brought texture and colour into the venue, without blocking any of the natural beauty through the windows. These colours and textures were carried into the tablescape and the hand-tied bouquet. I really wanted the table to show how a small intimate wedding can still be stunning, and if you have to compromise on numbers, you certainly don’t have to compromise on style. I really wanted the table to be unstructured and luxurious, rich tones and beautiful florals, giving a renaissance vibe. A classic urn-shaped arrangement in the centre and small bud vases filling the length with vintage candlesticks to add depth and warmth. Stunning tableware and coloured glasses were provided by Whitehouse Crockery, and this added to the luxurious feel I so wanted..

Stationery

For stationery I wanted something that would be modern and minimal, that would complement the table and florals, adding some of the natural elements without being overcomplicated. I knew Lucy Mcspirit Design would be able to fulfil this brief, she loves creating stationery that you can touch, which include gorgeous textures with a minimal vibe. The colour scheme worked perfectly with the textured card, together with the contemporary fonts.

Lake District Wedding

Robyn and Tom are a real couple due to marry next year. Their chemistry shines through every capture, especially in the ceremony conducted by Hazel from Sunkissed Ceremonies (also their celebrant for their real wedding.) Robyn's auburn locks are PERFECT for this autumn inspiration at Lake District wedding venue Hidden River Cabins, as is the fashion and flowers in warm orange and mustard tones perfectly representing the season.

Fashion & Beauty

Daniella created three looks on our gorgeous bride Robyn. For the first look, Daniella curled and pinned Robyns hair in a contemporary updo, to complement the bejewelled Bowen Dryden jumpsuit. Using a rust coloured palette for the makeup, Daniella created a flawless look but kept it light so Robyn’s freckles could be seen, and added a bit of texture by completing Robyn’s eyes with pearls. For the second look, Daniella opted to take Robyn’s hair down, going loose and wild, to complement the amazing Bowen Dryden, Sons of Innocence collection gown. This gown from Jayne at Foxglove Brides was just the most incredible choice, it really set the scene of the shoot, the layered embroidery and lace was so stunning, and is from a sustainable, reusable and eco-friendly collection. The final dress, a velvet mustard gown was designed by new local bridesmaid gown designer, Star Jasmine Studio. This looked incredible against the darker outdoors backdrop and was the perfect colour for our autumnal theme. For this dress, Daniella styled Robyn’s hair in a Viking plait, to show off the back of the mustard gown, and a striking dark lip.

Wedding Cake

The cake supplied by The Little Kendal Cakery was a real statement piece. It was a 3 tiered design, with hues of the blush and rust colours in the icing, and the most exquisite autumnal handcrafted sugar florals, following the style of the unstructured flowers by Olive Owl. It looked perfect on the table and really stole the show.
