Today's orange wedding theme at The Oakwood at Ryther captured our hearts with its warm tones, sweetheart table and impressive light installation. Once again proving small weddings can be big on style.
Vision
Orange Crush was a shoot thought up by Esme Whiteside Photography. She wanted to steer away from the muted, uber-romantic tones, and go for something earthier with a bit more edge. She decided on burnt rust and terracotta tones and created a shoot at The Oakwood at Ryther wedding venue around this colour palette.
Inspiration & Styling
Oakwood at Ryther was the venue. It’s a beautiful new barn venue in Yorkshire. The ceremony room is just breathtaking with the whalebone beam arches, and loads of beautiful light. It suited the colour palette being nice and rustic and having all that exposed brickwork. Jen at My Pretties styled the shoot when we decided on a sweetheart elopement style table, we asked Typical Type UK to provide the cable reel table and overhead Edison bulb lighting – which both worked amazingly together. Jen styled the tablescape and the dessert station, with rusts, burgundies and blacks to give the shoot some tonal dimension. The amazing dessert table was provided by Where the Ribbon Ends, who opted for an uber-modern meringue layered cake, a two-tier cream-coloured cake, and loads of little treats, including doughnuts, cupcakes and meringues. This really was a showstopper, especially with the stationery from Jenna at Wonderland Invites. The stationery fit perfectly, Jenna provided menus, invites, RSVPs and signage, all of which were orange and coral tones, with white accents and line drawings.
Oakwood at Ryther
Terracotta and rust shades make up this orange wedding theme at the Oakwood at Ryther. With flowers, wedding stationery and the warm glow of the light installation adding to the autumnal colour palette. It may be cold outside but we're certainly feeling cosy.
Flowers & Decor
The flowers for this shoot really pulled the whole thing together and were created by Emma Cox Floristry. We had roses, dahlias and hints of dried pampas, all in beautiful oranges, corals, deep reds and pinks. Emma created an installation to go on top of the Edison bulbs, a standing cloud to adorn the bottom of the table, bud vases for the main table and the dessert table, plus the bouquet which was super contemporary.
Fashion & Beauty
Ailsa did her own makeup, but the hair was done by the amazing Hair and Makeup by Saskia, who did three separate looks with the hairpieces provided, and the Stetson to top off the last look was created by Luna and Wild. This was truly beautiful and gave the shoot a little bit of a boho feel. The dress was an elegant beaded lace piece from Anna Campbell Bridal, from Jean Jackson boutique. The lace and embellishments on this gown are just something else and added a little bit of luxe to the shoot.
