Inspiration

The bride is a wedding stylist and prop pro (FiftySix Events if you want to check her out) so there wasn't a doubt that this industrial wedding would be anything short of amazing. This mature couple wedding was filled with neon signs, linen quotes, blush tones and fun retro stationery, just a few of the eye-catching details! And speaking of fun, that was the theme of the day, fresh out of lockdown there was nothing the couple wanted more than for their guests to let their hair down and enjoy themselves...and that's exactly what they did!

Industrial Wedding in Scotland with Blush Tones

I'm a wedding stylist and finally getting to style my own wedding was very special. We fell in love with our industrial venue as soon as we saw it and even though it was a new venue I could totally imagine how amazing it would look and how the space could work for our wedding. Both Stuart & I have children from previous relationships and having both our daughters as bridesmaids & sons as groomsmen made it extra special. My 16 year old son also walked me down the aisle along with my dad.

One of the reasons we chose our venue was the relaxed vibe and we wanted a relaxed style with lots of colour to reflect this. We both also love trees indoors so we filled our venue with 34 trees which totally transformed the space, loved them! We booked a pizza van to do all our food, they provided canapes for the drinks reception, sharing boards, pizza & salad for the meal followed by homemade gelato served from an ice cream cart, the food went down a storm.

Stylish Mature Couple Wedding with Neon Signs

I had booked a very cool vintage car to take us to the venue but unfortunately, it didn't show up, which meant we were now late for the ceremony, but my lovely photographer Lena stepped in and firstly drove my mum and bridesmaids to the venue and then came back for myself and my dad. Lena and her partner Patrick were absolute stars throughout the whole day. Our guests didn't seem to mind my lateness though, they were busy enjoying the prosecco!

Luckily at this mature couple wedding their amazing Photographer stepped in to help them out when the bride's transport was a no show! Although we don't like to think of things going wrong on the special day, lets be real sometimes things just don't go to plan that's why we have a whole podcast episode dedicated to having a Plan B so that your day still runs as smoothly as possible.
