Inspiration

Chateau Sainte-Roseline in the south of France is undeniably beautiful, what a perfect backdrop for such a pretty and joyful wedding. Milly and Simon were married under rows of olive trees followed by an outdoor wedding breakfast accompanied by a 20-piece brass band... I know, what dreams are made of right? Milly's custom made dress is stunning, and I love Simon's dapper turquoise suit, not a hue you see A groom in very often but together they are a super stylish pair. After perusing their big day you can see more of Milly on her lifestyle blog Thoroughly Modern Milly. Enjoy folks!

The Dress

Milly The Bride: My gown was designed and made by the extremely talented dressmaker Venetia Flint.

Accessories

I wore an antique opal heart necklace given to me by Simon on the morning of the wedding. And one of the most extravagant aspects of the wedding a pair of Royal blue Manolo Blahnik heels from Harrods.

Venue

Our venue was a gorgeous vineyard called Chateau Sainte-Roseline in Les Arcs, Provence, France. The ceremony was in the Olive Grove, followed by canapés and fizz in the Cloisters, and then dinner and dancing outdoors in the Alley of Trees.

Florist

Rustic flowers provided by local Provencal florist, La Rose d’Or.

Decor/styling

Simon's little sister Beth made the bunting. I did all the calligraphy. I also bought local biscuit tins and found the flower jars at a local antique market. Party bags consisted of local honey, mustard, tapenade, Grandmother’s recipe, local herbes de provence, and local “calisson” sweets.

Caterer & Cake Maker

We had a traditional Piece Montee wedding cake provided by the our caterers, AMJ.

Bridesmaids Dresses

The Bridesmaid two-piece outfit was a fabulous find in the Whistles sale. “Tie the knot” rings especially made by Louisa Slade

Grooms Fashion

Simon wore a couture Paul Smith suit.

Stationery

I calligraphed all the place settings. Our Save the Dates were old French postcards and our invitations were sent with a handmade guidebook for the area of Provence made by us.

Entertainment

We had a local 18-piece big band called Big Band d’Aix for dancing in the evening.

Photographer

The amazing Charlotte Hu was our photographer. We liked her who so much we flew her over to France to capture our day.

Ceremony

Our talented friends and family performed our favourite pieces of music and readings. We all sung “I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” by Abba at the end of the vows and our two little nieces carried the rings.
