This colourful Pakistani wedding will be sure to warm you up on this chilly morning! Maheen & Ateed planned their wedding in under six weeks! They opted for a boho, rustic and chic look, which is different for a South East Asian wedding. We love the warm Autumnal tones which work perfectly alongside their brightly coloured florals. Their wedding involved some traditional aspects, such as the Shoe Hiding, Milk Drinking and a Nikkah ceremony. Of course, Recommended Supplier, SL Photo and Film, was on hand to capture their beautiful day and some incredible smoke bomb portraits!
Colourful Pakistani Wedding
My husband and I exchanged vows (more like storytelling) on the day. This is not something usually done in Muslim Asian weddings, but I would suggest people try it! It's fun and really makes for a great moment.
Maheen & Ateed opted for a more boho chic look which is something a little different for a South East Asian wedding! However, they still incorporated traditions within their day, such as the Shoe Hiding, this is where the sisters, cousins, and other female relatives of the bride are the culprits – they are expected to hide the shoes after stealing them. They aim to get some money from the groom before releasing his shoes since he will need them to leave the venue. Of course, after all the fun they headed outside for some incredible smoke bomb portraits!
A flower arch is always a good idea!
Fretting over little things isn't worth it - it will come together in the end. That tiny thing which you think will make or break your wedding? it doesn't matter at all - what makes or breaks your wedding is your attitude on the day.
Maheen & Ateed’s Pakistani wedding is the perfect example of still doing things your way whilst incorporating traditions into your day! Take a look at this beautiful Nikah Ceremony, complete with an incredible embellished gold dress! Or how about this beautiful day complete with a muted-toned colour palette? We’re obsessed!
