What Made Our Day Unique
Matt plays bass in a band, Elijah James and the Nightmares, so we had Elijah and Gareth play our favourite songs in the church, and Nat, the pianist, play during our drinks reception. We've known Elijah since we first got together in 2012, so having him sing me down the aisle was really special. Music is a big part of our lives, so we based the table plan around songs that remind us of those people and displayed on old vinyl's. Oh, and the weather! If rain on your wedding means good luck, then we’ve got bucket loads!
Pink Wedding Bouquet
Emily's bright pink wedding bouquet was inspired by a real wedding she'd seen on Rock My Wedding. Both her flowers and the wedding that had inspired her used a beautiful array of jewel-like blooms to make up the oversized bouquets which included orchids, roses and dahlias and looked pretty as a picture. The bridesmaids can also be seen holding miniature versions of the bouquet which pop against their cool, jade green dresses.Decor & Details
I was convinced I wouldn’t get bogged down in DIY projects, but I ended up designing my own dress and making our wedding cake, table plan and placeholders! With my dress, I wanted something really unique. It was a big gamble as I only saw it finished the week we got married, but I was over the moon. I’ve done wedding cakes for friends’ weddings before and always knew I’d want to make my own. Everyone thought I was mad but it was actually really therapeutic. Our photographer, Erin, is an absolute babe. She was like a sixth bridesmaid during the morning, and even re-did my hair after we’d got soaked mucking about in the rain taking photos before the party! She captured the mood of the day perfectly. The staff at Askham Hall, particularly Nico, Olivia and Alina, are wonderful and went above and beyond the whole weekend.
