What Made Our Day Unique
We put on a massive party! We knew from the minute that we started planning the wedding that we wanted to throw traditions out of the window and have a day that was really personal to us, that truly reflected us as a couple and would also be a massive celebration of our 17 years together! From the unusual venues, neon lights, a colourful sequin wedding dress, to a brass band ‘interrupting’ the ceremony, our wedding really was a personal, unique and special day for us, and all of our friends and family. There are so many favourite moments. From Katie’s (Celebrant) hilarious storytelling through the ceremony, to the speech highjack by 2 of the bridesmaids & starting an impromptu mass- sing-along of ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, to the bear head props at Viva Le Booth getting worn by everyone dancing on the dance floor, to Explorers band learning some cover songs to play especially on the day including one of our favourites by LCD Soundsystem! The whole day was an absolute blast and we were so sad at the end of the night as it had flown by so quickly! The best part was definitely having all of our favourite people in one place.Melissa & Dave
Inspiration & Styling
Sequin neon disco rave! A festival in a day. A massive party. My dress inspired a lot of the theme. I knew I didn’t want to wear a ‘traditional’ white dress. I tried a few on and although some of them were beautiful, I knew they weren’t ‘me’. As soon as I saw the sequin Alice Temperley dress, I knew it was ‘the one’. So, without giving anything away about the dress, I was able to plan the theme with Dave. Luckily Ellie at Inner City with her shared enthusiasm for disco balls, Katie the Celebrant’s shared love of colourful clothes and her fun personality, and our love of neon lights, meant the vibe was definitely party-fun! As Dave & I both work in creative / tech professions, we ended up developing our own branding and logo for the wedding based on the amazing neon light we hired from Vowed & Amazed - Til Death Do Us Party & that theme than ran through the whole day.Melissa & Dave
