Inspiration

After 14 years, Isabelle and Richard decided to officially tie the knot in 2020. You can see how much they adore each other! Isabelle owns a fabulous wedding cake business, The Designer Cake Company. With this in mind, she didn't want to get married in the UK to avoid feeling like a supplier at her own wedding. So, they packed their bags and 15 guests off to Umbria, Italy! Their sky blue bridesmaid dresses match the sunny Italian sky just perfectly!

Isabelle and Richard held a relaxed and intimate ceremony with 15 guests at Castiglione Ugolino, an exclusive private estate tucked away in the countryside; giving them full reign to relax. The couple chose to use an Italian wedding planner to relieve wedding planning stress and help source local suppliers. Excluding their photographer Naomi, and hair and makeup artist Tracey Baden, one of our Recommended Suppliers.

I loved walking down the aisle to Rich. I am a very shy person and hate being centre of attention so the thought of walking down the aisle terrified me. But when it came to it, the look on his face (and the look on our guests faces) was very memorable.

SECRET CEREMONY

We flew 15 guests out to Umbria and stayed for a week at Castiglione Ugolino which is an exclusive use private villa near Perugia. The venue itself isn't licensed for legal ceremonies, so on the morning of the wedding we were legally married by the mayor of Castiglione del Lago, a small town about 45 minutes away. We snuck off with just our photographer and wedding planner for the civil ceremony - no guests - which was really special and intimate. We then had a symbolic ceremony outside at Castiglone Ugolino with our guests followed by a relaxed and intimate reception.

VIBE

Relaxed and fun! The whole day was really laid back and full of laughs and the styling reflected that chilled vibe. We went for boho chic, and a dreamy colour palette of powder blue, pale peaches, corals and soft olive green. I was very aware of the colours of the venue itself and surrounding countryside so chose a scheme to compliment that. We went with rustic and wild styling for our flowers, the table decor was elegant and simple, my dress had a bohemian feel and the guys wore open neck shirts and rolled up sleeves!

Dreamy sky blue bridesmaid dresses, lots of flowers and a bridal denim jacket are perfect for a luxe boho chic vibe.

The only thing that really matters is marrying the person you love, surrounded by friends and family. If you are relaxed, your guests will be too.
