Inspiration

After falling in love with the incredible floral creations of Philippa Craddock at the recent Royal Wedding it felt only right that we work with our amazing, handpicked wedding suppliers from The List to bring you both inspirational and achievable ideas taking inspiration from this romantic and elegant look. I think you'd be hard pushed to find anyone, anywhere who failed to swoon over that stunning green foliage and white floral archway at the west door of St George's Chapel and who doesn't want a bit of that swoon on their own magical day?! Whilst Summer styling often includes pastel hues and rustic decor, today we've gathered inspiration for a somewhat more understated, refined look (aside from the flowers of course, they are off the chart) which should no longer be reserved for destination weddings.

Summer Styling

Elegance and simplicity in styling teamed with incredible blooms lends itself so beautifully to the summer days and is the perfect backdrop to your love story. We just love how it all feels show stoppingly beautiful yet has a calm and almost ethereal feel. The places where your loved ones gather for the ceremony, cocktail reception and dinner are paired back yet stylish, with florals speaking volumes. Fabrics are sheer and light, allowing for movement, and draping adds intimacy to large or outdoor spaces.

Maximalist Florals
Whist we may not have access to florals gathered from the Crown Estates and Royal Parks we DO have access to floral masterminds. The List is home to a whole host of incredible florists all well versed in creating stunning creations a la that of Miss Craddock. We always suggest sticking to seasonally appropriate blooms, so the peonies of the Royal Wedding are out, but the garden roses, foxgloves will be available throughout Summer, and it wouldn't be RMW without us telling you to throw in some spectacular dahlias, too. White blooms against green foliage is striking and classic, so you can afford to go big. And when you think it's big enough, go bigger... Whoever said size doesn't matter was not a floral kinda person. We're talking floral arches, large installations (staircase and fireplace adornments are some of our favourites), oversized bouquets and fresh foliage garlands for tables.
Chic Fashion & Beauty

We just adore the minimal, paired back look seen above. Sophisticated and unfussy fabrics, clean lines, modern silhouettes, chic undoos and a hint of glisten from jewellery and killer shoes. The fit of the dress has to be perfect when you're going for a simple style and we recommend a chat with your bridal shop or designer of choice about alterations and fitting services, all boutiques on The List are really open and honest about what you can expect so they should be your first port of call. Hair and beauty is again, minimalist and modern.

Luxe Details
I am a sucker for the details. The font of the invite, the perfectly iced cake, glorious wax seals and sheer ribbon adornments. You will see the refined styling continues right through down to the smallest details which really allows the entire look to feel cohesive and thought out. Serif fonts mixed with calligraphy and hand lettering feels super luxe for all your stationery whilst classic and simple cakes look striking when adorned with a little foliage. Don't forget the small metallic touches (because we've all got a little magpie about us) and a signature cocktail, no excuse needed.

Almost all of the images pulled together to create this beautiful inspiration piece are of work created by our incredible suppliers on The List. If you're still looking for that amazing florist to create these stunning installations, a chic and elegant gown or someone to bring to life your #stationerygoals then you really don't have to look any further. All come with the Rock My Wedding seal of approval and really are the most talented, and downright coolest in the industry.
