Inspiration

We hope you all had an amazing Christmas, but now it's passed our thoughts have turned to New Year's Eve, amazing style and epic celebrations, hence this incredibly glamourous wedding at Middleton Lodge with velvet dinner jacket, embellished gowns, metallic colour schemes and fun, fun, fun. Both Jordan and Dougie have a musical background, as do some of their wedding guests, which concluded in performances from all and a full and very happy dance floor.

What Made Our Day Unique

Autumnal setting. Old hollywood aesthetic and entertainment captured by a black tie dress code and music by The Mini Big Band. The bride and groom are performers therefore a large portion of the guests were also enetertainers which filled the evening with singing and dancing from start to finish.

Velvet Dinner Jacket

We love it when Grooms put as much thought into their outfits as brides. Groom Dougie certainly did that staying true to his style and taking inspiration from his favourite 1950s Rat Pack era by wearing a plush velvet dinner jacket. His groomsmen also wore black tie suits and the pictures of them singing in the evening, getting ready and generally goofing around together radiate joy. Bride Jordan matched Dougie's Hollywood glamourous style in an embellished Crystal Design wedding dress which she found whilst spending many an hour on Instagram looking for wedding inspiration.

Inspiration & Styling

The evening was inspired by MGM old Hollywood with an Autumnal twist. We wanted the guests to feel glamorous and give them a reason to get dressed up. We both adore old Hollywood movies and music and wanted to create a night the reflected this aesthetic. Our love of Autumn inspired the decor and colour scheme for bridesmaid dresses, flowers and table decor. One of our favourite moments was spending all night on the dance floor dancing to the Mini Big Band and seeing how much our guests loved the music.

Jordan & Dougie
Jordan and Dougie dressed RMW recommended wedding venue Middleton Lodge with the prettiest pumpkin wedding decor which they spray painted gold to complement their deep red and metallic colour scheme. They also had romantic candlelight, lots of foliage and pine cones. The privately-owned Georgian mansion includes The Fig House reception venue and a beautifully restored walled garden where Jordan and Dougie walked together hand in hand for some of the most adorable wedding pictures by Abbie Sizer Photography.
