Right from the start we wanted our wedding to be all about the guest experience. While we already knew we would have the best day ever, and we also wanted our guests to feel like they were taken care of and thoroughly entertained along the way.
Covent Garden String Quartet played beautiful classical music as the guests were arriving as well as during the ceremony. They continued with a more contemporary feel for the cocktail hour with string versions of chart favourites while the guests sipped on bubbly and enjoyed canapés in the sun. For the cocktail hour, we also hired a closeup magician to mingle among the guests and keep them entertained while we were away doing our portraits. We also had a couple of surprises up our sleeve for the reception. First, we entered the room with a special performance of (I've Had) The Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing - lift and all. We then got inspired to run the reception like an old-school dinner-dance. So we had a Sinatra singer come and sing live during parts of the dinner so guests (and us) could take turns dancing and eating. This was one of the favourite features and we've heard so much great feedback from our guests about this afterwards. And finally, to round the night off we had a chocolate fountain with fresh fruits that the guests could tuck into in between strutting their stuff on the dance floor.
