Do not be swayed by the latest trends. Stay true to your authentic self. In this age and time, it is easy to compare weddings, but this adds unnecessary stress and pressure. Have a sit down as a couple, and decide what is most important to both of you. Ranking things from highest to lowest in priority. For example in our case, initially, we were planning to do fireworks at the end of the night, but we’ve realised that we prefer to have a remembrance with all the people that we love, and that is through our fun photo booth.
Mhinxylle & Francis
Mhinxylle & Francis’s wedding was a complete reflection of who they are as a couple. They infused their personalities into every little detail, starting with DIY elements that charmed every guest. Forget the traditional order of service; this couple handed out personalised newspapers complete with a timeline of events, mints, and tissues for those inevitable happy tears. Each table at the reception was a testament to their shared love of travel. Instead of generic table numbers, they named each table after a country they had visited together, accompanied by big, gorgeous photos from those trips. Even their music choices told their story. From the string quartet’s renditions of their favourite songs during the ceremony to the party playlist that mirrored the stages of their relationship, every note carried meaning. And the venue? It couldn’t have been more perfect. The lush Victorian arboretum and orangery spoke to Mhinxylle’s love for plants, with its dreamy glasshouse vibe adding a magical touch. Combine that with their dusty blue and pastel colour palette, and you’ve got a day that is as vibrant as their love.
Bringing their vision to life was no small feat, but their stylist nailed it. The ceremony featured a stunning broken arch that later became a centrepiece for the wedding meal. Lanterns lined the aisle, adding a romantic glow, while a white runner emphasised the soft pastel pops of colour. For the reception, cream linens and light blue napkins are paired effortlessly with beaded charger plates and pastel candles. Mhinxylle & Francis sat at their sweetheart table, surrounded by family and friends, savouring the moment (and the food they had carefully curated). With the string quartet playing softly in the background, they took time to reflect on their day so far, giggling over their favourite moments and relishing the fact that they were now married. It was a special, intimate pause amid the celebration—a moment they’ll treasure forever.
But the evening’s real showstopper came on the dance floor. Mhinxylle’s best friend, John Louie, choreographed their first dance to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli. It was a total surprise for their guests, no one had ever seen Francis dance before! With just five days of practice, they pulled off a flawless two-minute routine, with Mhinxylle sparkling in her glittering Nadine Merabi Sadie dress. And just when everyone thought it couldn’t get better, Francis broke out into a solo dance that left the entire room howling with laughter, even his parents!
I love flowers and pastels, and spring romantic vibes. We chose a base colour of dusty blue and added soft colours such as butter yellow, blush, and peach. Our stylist, Amelia, has helped us integrate everything we wanted.
