Becky: We don't talk much about wedding rings here. But I mean, it's obvious right? and we definitely should. So when Rock My Wedding Recommended Supplier, CAST, got in touch with us to tell us more about their wedding ring making masterclass, (You can actually make your own rings. How cool is that?) and the fact that you can create bespoke wedding rings from the comfort of your sofa (yes please!) we really wanted to share their knowledge of choosing the right wedding rings with you. We absolutely love CAST. All of their gold, silver and platinum is recycled. All of their stones are ethically sourced and conflict-free and all of their jewellery is made using renewable energy. What's not to love right?
At CAST, we are shaking things up with a modern and creative approach to bespoke wedding rings. We’ve helped hundreds of style-savvy couples create future heirlooms, in our Sheffield Studio and at home with our bespoke wedding ring making kit. Both options offer full design support from start to finish. We can even organise a mini-moon escape with ring making, a Michelin star supper and stay in Sheffield finest boutique hotel, if that’s up your street!
Choosing Your Dream Rings
With so many details to consider for your wedding day, knowing how and where to start looking for the perfect wedding rings can feel a little overwhelming. We are here to share our expert tips on what to consider when choosing your wedding rings. And most importantly, how to swerve the cliché, mass produced ones, in place of bespoke rings with genuine meaning. We’ll also give you a little insight into the wonderful world of CAST wedding rings along the way!
Deciding Your budget
If you start your ring search with a budget in mind, the rest of the process should be much more enjoyable. This means you can fall in love with your ring without panicking about creeping costs. CAST wedding rings start at just £100 for 925 sterling silver, with options to upgrade to yellow, rose, white gold, silver or platinum, with stone setting detail and engraving. Bespoke doesn’t mean breaking the bank. Our expert team will help you create your dream rings to align perfectly with your budget and style.
Your Wedding Ring Style
Choose a style you love. You’re going to be wearing your wedding rings for many years to come so it’s important they make your heart sing! Whether you’re choosing to make your own wedding rings, or opting for a more traditional approach, it’s good to start by finding a style of ring you love. Of which there are many. CAST offers full design support from the word go. Starting with a free design consultation. You can look at our amazing archive of inspiration to help find your style. You’ll get one to one design support throughout the design making process. At CAST we know this is a huge decision so we have curated an amazing collection of inspirational style. Get Personal
Aside from the wonderful memories of the big day, your rings are the things you’ll carry with you always. If you’re buying off the shelf, there are a couple of simple ways you can personalise, such as precious stone detail and engraving of a message or special date. If you choose to make or commission a designer, the scope to personalise is limitless! CAST offers endless ways to personalise your rings, adding unmatchable sentimental value and results in a truly unique piece. From heirloom gold, to marking each other rings with the most personal detail of all, your fingerprint. Plus, the team at CAST will take care of every beautiful detail to make the process a day to remember.
Consider Your Lifestyle

Match your ring to your lifestyle. If for example, you have a pretty hands on job, avoid huge statement diamond settings and maybe opt for a harder wearing base metal. CAST’s expert team will help you select the right base metal and style to suit your lifestyle. For example, platinum is the most hardwearing base metal which may suit a more active and practical lifestyle. Afterall, you'll be wearing your rings through all of life’s adventures!

Make Your Own Wedding Rings

Making your wedding rings with CAST is a pretty special experience. We've helped hundreds of couples ditch cliche, mass-produced wedding rings for beautiful modern heirlooms, made with feeling.

In The Studio

CAST offers total flexibility on the making process. Create your bespoke rings at our beautiful Sheffield studio in the heart of Kelham Island. You’ll have your own private studio space, hosted by one of our expert team who will help you design, make and bring your dream rings to life. We’ll take care of every detail making sure you have tonnes of fun in the process, a bottle of your favourite wine, tasty nibbles and a great soundtrack.

At Home

Many couples opt to make their rings at home with CAST’s bespoke ring making kit, meaning you can make it in your own time and at your own pace. Along with your kit, we’ll make sure you’ve got plenty of wax to fit you perfectly. We’ll send you tonnes of fabulous inspiration, along with design support and tutorials (including an excellent soundtrack!) When you buy your kit, you’ll also have the option to book a one-to-one remote masterclass with our expert team, perfect if you’d like a little extra tuition. The process is pretty magical. Once you’ve created your wedding rings in jewellers wax, your design will be cast in gold, silver, or platinum. CAST’s expert family team of silversmiths have been lost wax casting for generations in Birmingham’s iconic Jewellery Quarter, so rest assured, you’re in safe hands. Your rings will be returned to your door within 3 weeks, hand polished and ready for your big day!

Becky: How good does that sound? Imagine using lockdown to create your wedding rings, at home? Especially knowing how sustainable CAST are and that they also work with independent, UK-based manufacturers to create their beautiful little kit. I reckon that would be an excellent use of your time. Thanks so much to CAST for inspiring us today to get creative and giving couples access to wedding rings that tell a story that can stay with them for a lifetime. You can check out their website here and give them a follow on Instagram as well. We have also shared a video to our IGTV where you can see more of the Studio and mini-moon package they offer.
