FAQS
Are your wedding ceremonies legal?
Yes! I'm a marriage officer fully authorised by the register general to conduct legal wedding and civil partnership ceremonies throughout Scotland.
What's your favourite pokemon?
Squirtle - he's a wee legend! https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/File:0007Squirtle.png
Sounds magic! What about fees etc.?
My fee for a wedding in and around Glasgow is £450. For weddings further afield, then additional mileage would need to be calculated. Please just ask, and I'll be able to quote you exactly. *This fee is expressly to cover the time and craft involved in the preparation, planning, and personalisation of your script prior to the ceremony. The actual ceremony itself is conducted, and marriage solemnised, without further charge, and is not for profit or gain.*
Do we need to be married in a specific type of venue?
Nope! In Scotland you can get married anywhere, as long as you have permission, and it's safe and dignified. I've been luck enough to conduct weddings on beaches, back gardens, and up mountains!
Can we have input into the ceremony content?
Of course! There are obviously a few things which must be included so that everything is legal - but you can have as much or as little creative input as you like!
Sustainability is important to us - how do you align?
'I'm definitely not perfect, but I try my best' is probably the honest answer here! I do have a hybrid car, which has next to no emissions - but it still gets me safely where I need to for some of my wilder weddings!
How long have you worked in the wedding industry?
Over 30 years!! Sounds ridiculous I know, especially when I look so young and spritely!! I've worked in weddings since 1992, when I was 15 - and since then I've run quite a successful string quartet, playing at literally thousands of weddings over the years! I have always held humanist beliefs, and can also talk the hind legs off a donkey, so when my fingers started to get sorer and sorer playing my cello, the natural next step for me was to work on becoming a celebrant. I've been authorised since 2017, and I plan to keep going until I'm planted (hopefully ages still!!)
