Family owned @dunwoodhallestate is a charming & quirky Grade II countryside venue. | LGBTQ Friendly | Kids & Dogs Friendly |Exclusive Use | Can be yours for a day or a long weekend.

Are children welcome? And what about dogs?

Yes, and yes. We know that for your special day to be truly special you want everyone that is important to you to be able to be there. Children and dogs (providing they are well behaved and house trained) will be welcomed with open arms and encouraged to explore the grounds and enjoy everything Dunwood Hall has to offer. We have a little one ourselves, who you’ll probably see running around, as well as two friendly Border Collies. No doubt you’ll meet them at some point too!

Do you support charities?

Yes, for every wedding or event held at our historical wedding venue we will make a donation to Cancer research and CLAPA, two charities that are very close to our hearts.

Who do you host?

We love to welcome people to our home, but we host only a handful of events each year. With this in mind, we love hosting people (particularly dogs lovers) who want to get stuck into making their event personal, who enjoy a quirkier style and appreciate the historic buildings and countryside location. We generally do medium-sized weddings, with around 90 people for the daytime reception and around 120 for an evening party.

This is a truly wonderful wedding venue. Erika and Brodie cannot do enough for you, to ensure that your day is bespoke and ultimately, the best day of your life. You receive a personal experience throughout, you don’t feel like a number. Highly recommend this beautiful and unique venue.

“It’s only forever”…for this very reason it was important for us to find a venue which reflected us and what we are about. Dunwood Hall surpassed all expectations. Our wedding ceremony and celebrations were absolutely perfect. So many guests commented that it was the best wedding they’d ever been to; it all felt so relaxed, intimate and filled with love. Everything we dreamed of was accommodated - to the finest of personalised details. This is not a run-of-the-mill venue; it is a beautiful, neo-gothic family home which gives guests a luxurious and unique experience for a few lucky couples each year. The house and grounds are stunning- quirky, unique and intimate with acres of fields, and numerous garden areas to explore, alongside a fresh water swimming pool. Multiple indoor areas allowed our friends and family to mingle, dance or chill as they wished. Moving between the sunny orangery, outdoor terrace lounge, dining room, opulent hallway bar with grand piano, music room and the cosy snug with open fire. Erika and Brodie are wonderful hosts, We were encouraged to do things our way rather than worrying about what others expected or what tradition dictates. This ultimately resulted in a wedding which was so meaningful to us, surrounded by the people we wanted to celebrate with. Trust in Erika and Brodie’s experience and advice. They know what works and what doesn’t. Our experience was fully bespoke with ongoing support throughout a year of meticulous planning as well as during our wonderful weekend of love and fun. Erika and Brodie’s attention to detail, friendly comms and wicked sense of humour meant that they became an integral part of our weekend; chatting and celebrating alongside us all, whilst somehow also ensuring the smooth running of events at the same time. That is no mean feat; they are incredible! As a dog-friendly venue it was a joy to have our cavachon as ring-bearer and our friend’s little yorkies as pooch-maids, complete with flower garland collars. Resident doggos, Chisel and Lourdie, were perfect hosts too and even guided some guests to the orangery for the ceremony as they arrived! We recommend booking the venue and on-site accommodation for the entire weekend (Friday to Sunday) as we did. This allowed us time to give 10 of our guests a weekend away whilst also settling in and getting organised well in advance so the wedding day itself was completely stress free. The newly refurbished on-site accommodation is gorgeous! Especially the Bridal suite, with far reaching views of the local hills, an en-suite featuring a roll top bath, and the most beautiful toilet we’ve ever seen! ???? As an LGBTQ couple, it was also important for us to choose an inclusive venue where we would be understood and welcomed with open arms. We felt 100% comfortable to be ourselves; allowing us to fully enjoy an amazing and magical experience.
