Where does the ceremony take place?
You can select from a variety of beautiful licenced areas within the venue for your ceremony, each with a unique atmosphere and capacity. You could go for the stunning Ballroom, which can seat up to 85 or 120 people standing and has everything you could want for a traditional-style ceremony, including tall gilt mirrors and an ornate ceiling. The idyllic Summer House, which seats up to 45 guests, is the ideal location if you want something a little more rustic. It has an airy, Mediterranean feel with light streaming through the large glass ceiling. Or if you have always dreamt of having an outdoor garden wedding enveloped by beautiful colours and scents, the gorgeous Walled Garden is a perfect choice. You'd exchange your vows under the wrought iron gazebo, surrounded by your nearest and dearest. Don't worry if a civil ceremony isn't for you! Whatever your vision is, Garthmyl Hall has the perfect place for your wedding ceremony.

What does a typical wedding at Garthmyl Hall look like?
A typical wedding at the hall is bright, fun, quirky and memorable! Each wedding is totally unique to you as there are so many different options - from the walled garden, to the ballroom to the three separate bars, there are endless possibilities for each aspect of the day to make it as special as possible and exactly what you envisioned. You can be sure that the dedicated team here will go all out to make your wedding one to remember!
Can we bring our own suppliers?
Yes!! The only set suppliers we have are three set caterers - you must choose from Tallulah's Catering, Wild Garlic or Comyn Bruce for your wedding meal. You are free to bring in any evening food suppler and any others you want! (they will just need to be approved by us first). We can also recommend a number of different suppliers who have worked with us at the Hall and are very familiar with the venue.
What is included?
The hire cost applies to the hire of the entire Hall and grounds for 48 hours over a weekend or midweek, including all bedrooms inside the Hall. You are then free to choose whatever suppliers (caterers, musicians, photographer, decor etc) you wish, meaning that you are in complete control of your budget and can tailor your wedding to your tastes. We can always make some recommendations if needed as we are lucky enough to regularly work with some amazing suppliers!
Where do we even begin?! As soon as we visited Garthmyl Hall, we instantly fell in love with its charm. The beautiful setting and gardens make it hard to believe that you’re not abroad! Every corner of the hall has been carefully designed. The decor is classic with modern touches, and every detail is perfect. We’ve had so many positive comments from guests with many saying it’s the best wedding venue they’ve ever been to! If you choose to hire the Stables for additional accommodation, you won’t be disappointed. Just like the hall, the rooms are faultless and Julia’s creativity and interior design have given them so much character. You can hire Garthmyl Hall for the entire weekend, arriving on the Friday afternoon before the wedding and leaving on the Sunday afternoon. Everyone tells you how fast time flies on your wedding day, so you really want to make the most of it and this was a huge deciding factor for us when considering our wedding venue. Being able to spend extra time with our closest family and friends the night before the wedding and having a debrief over breakfast the next day was so special, and part of what makes Garthmyl Hall so unique! Our first wedding date was booked in April 2020, but due to the pandemic we had to make the heartbreaking decision to postpone. I can’t explain how incredible Julia and the team were throughout the pandemic and the countless rearrangements we had to make. We finally had our special day (fourth time lucky!) on 26th February 2022, and we will never forget the kindness that was shown to us during uncertain times. We heard so many horror stories from friends getting married and the struggles they’d faced with their venues during the pandemic, and I could honestly cry just thinking about how supportive Julia and the team have been towards us, especially when they were also facing their own challenges in the wedding industry. When our wedding day finally came around, the day was so chilled and relaxed and it felt like home. Everyone at Garthmyl Hall felt like part of the family, making us feel so welcome and going above and beyond to make the day special. From the countless cups of tea for the Grandparents to ensuring the log baskets were always stocked up, every little detail was thought of and nothing was too much trouble! Special shout out to Het, Rhi, Andy and Alistair - total legends! Thank you for making our day well and truly worth the wait! We feel so privileged to have been able to spend our wedding weekend at Garthmyl Hall surrounded by such incredible people, and we can’t wait to come back and visit soon! Thank you for everything!
We had the most amazing wedding at Garthmyl Hall in November. Heather and all the staff went above and beyond to make it the perfect weekend for us and all our family, most of whom stayed on site in the beautiful accommodation. A huge thanks to everyone & we cannot recommend it more to couples looking to have their own special day there.
We have just got married at Garthmyl Hall and wow, what an absolutely stunning venue. Every single room is decorated with such attention to detail. When we arrived on the Friday afternoon, two of the rooms, including the honeymoon suite had been newly redecorated and they hadn't even looked like they needed it! This is just testiment to the staff at this venue. Lucieanne and Heather were absolutely amazing, they were worth the hire of the hall alone. They spent the whole weekend ensuring that everything went to plan. Nothing was ever too much to ask of them, from setting up the night before the wedding, helping us to make a buffet for family and also packing up the morning after for us, before we had even come down from our rooms! Even in the run up to the wedding their organisation was second to none, always on the other end of the phone if we needed them. We had an amazing weekend at Garthmyl, as did our guests, we felt quite sad to see our amazing weekend end there!
What an absolutely beautiful and amazing place…. Having our daughters wedding here was the best decision ever. The hall is beautiful in the entirety. Every room has been decorated and furnished to the highest standard and in keeping with the grandeur it deserves. Julia knows her stuff!! From having a quick wedding rehearsal on the Friday night to providing a full English on the Sunday morning. Nothing was too much trouble for her throughout the whole weekend. We were able to arrive on the Friday afternoon, allowing us to get together with family in the evening for a pre wedding meal in the dining room and sort all those little things before the big day. The wedding day itself was just ‘PERFECT’, with Julia working her magic behind the scenes keeping everything going to plan!! If you are looking for a stunning venue for your wedding, any time of year, Garthmyl Hall is the place. Thank you Julia & team xxx
We regard Garthmyl Hall as our ‘happy place’-reliving wonderful memories of our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding six months on! Leah and John had fallen in love with this beautiful venue, as did we during an impressive ‘Open Day’. What a venue! Beautiful and grandiose, yet with a homely feel. Julia’s eye for interior design and attention to detail is second to none and was much appreciated by our family and friends who stayed at the venue. Being able to hold the ceremony and celebrations in the Walled Garden and beautifully kept grounds was magical! Heartfelt thanks, Julia and your team for providing a very personal service and, thus, helping Leah and John realise their perfect day. Garthmyl Hall (in the words of Tina Turner!) is Simply the Best!
