FAQS
Can we get married anywhere in Scotland?
Yes, there's nowhere that's out of bounds, except if you're on a boat, we need to drop anchor for the ceremony itself. Otherwise, anywhere you like - you're limited only by your imagination for your dream location.
Are you the same as a humanist?
Most people are very familiar with humanist ceremonies because they celebrate the couple being married. In that respect, I'm no different, but where I differ is that I'm not restricted in any way whatsoever regarding your content so you can include whatever you like in your ceremony including any religious or spiritual readings or prayers.
What does Interfaith mean?
Interfaith is a belief system which covers all faiths and none. The majority of the ceremonies I conduct have no religion in them at all but for some couples, although they don't have a belief themselves, their parents or grandparents do and they want to acknowledge that - my status as an Interfaith celebrant allows me to accommodate that. For other couples, one may have a belief and the other doesn't, so I work with you to work out a middle ground and ensure you both feel your beliefs have been met.
Will my wedding in Scotland be legal if you conduct it?
I'm authorised by the Registrar General of Scotland to conduct marriages so your ceremony will definitely be a legal one. If you're coming from overseas, there are a few more forms to fill in to ensure your ceremony here is recognised in your home country, but anyone marrying who lives in the UK will definitely have a legal marriage if I conduct it.
We've no idea where to start with organising things ...
When you book me, you'll get access to a special client area on my website which has lots of ideas - everything from venues and suppliers to suggestions for music, readings and ideas on how to write your vows. You'll also get a detailed timetable to help you in the whole run up to your wedding. And if there are questions there that aren't answered, I'll be on the end of an email or phone whenever you need me.
