FAQS
How many guests can you fit in a marquee?
Our marquees are perfect for large weddings as they are modular in design meaning each can be attached to another to create an unlimited amount of space for truly decadent gatherings and weekend long weddings. Each marquee has its own capacity individually. Most hold up to a maximum of 260 guests. Our Oyster Pearl Tent has a 350 person capacity. Please contact us for more information on how we can create different rooms and hidden areas for unveilings and surprises throughout your wedding day.
How far in advance should I book a marquee?
It always depends on the date you are looking to hold your wedding. If you are hoping for a very popular summer wedding date in August or September you will need to contact us further in advance as our tents tend to get booked out quickly during the summer months. Do get in touch with your preferred date and we will let you know if it's available. We can heat marquees and make them deliciously cosy during the spring and winter months.
How long is the marquee hire period?
Our standard hire is always a full weekend, or 1 - 2 days. We are more than happy to arrange longer hire periods and regularly work with festivals and corporate clients on sometimes month long events.
Will the marquee damage the grass?
No, not usually. The team takes great care with gardens, and grass usually recovers very quickly from being covered for a few days. The marquee requires stakes in the ground which do make holes, but these can be pushed in usually. The centre poles of the Oyster Pearl tent can make slight dents where the weight has been heaviest, but this isn’t permanent. The cassette floor upgrade is useful for protecting grass under the main floor of the marque and is the type that the National Trust insists on at their properties to protect the lawn. The cassette floor can then be covered with carpeting in a variety of colours – contact us for a PDF of options.
Will you assess the suitable of a site for a marquee wedding?
Yes, we do a site visit with every confirmed booking. If you don’t have a confirmed booking we are still happy to visit, and charge a small site visit fee of £100 plus mileage and VAT - the site visit fee is then deducted from a confirmed booking once made. A lot of assessment is possible based on photos and dimensions of the areas in question too. Please contact us for more information
Can the sides of the marquee be opened?
Absolutely. One of the features of the Dana, Lulu and Oyster Pearl tents is their aesthetic with the walls removed. The walls of our tents hook on and off very easily.
