All of your venue hire fee goes straight back into the Gardens to help fund all of the vital work that the Kew carries out. Here is what that fee covers for your event at Kew Gardens: - Exclusive use of the venue or venue package on your chosen date - Your own assigned Operations Manager who is your point of contact throughout all your event planning and is also present on the day of your event to manage your onsite logistics - Stewarding and security staffing - Cleaning of the venue, before and after your event - Access to the greater gardens for your guests throughout their opening hours on the day of your event - Set up of the venue pre guest arrival For Cambridge Cottage - Full use of the venue's stock furniture, which includes 6-foot-round tables and chairs For the Orangery - Night time lighting of the pathways to and from the venue to Elizabeth Gate For the Nash Conservatory - Use of the bathroom facilities in a neighbouring building and exclusive use of the private lawn area between Kew Palace and the Joseph Banks Building - For wedding ceremonies only: use of the wedding ceremony chairs, lectern and registrar table as well as a Sound Engineer to oversee microphone set up And for weddings - For the wedding couple, free access to the whole of Kew Gardens for half an hour during your drinks reception for the couple’s photographs, for which we provide you with a buggy and a driver.
Your catering, production and decoration requirements must all be provided by companies listed on Kew’s approved list. As Kew's venues are all either Grade I or II Heritage-listed buildings and the greatest care must be taken to prevent damage, only the approved suppliers are allowed to provide a service for any event at Kew. If you plan to use any supplier that is not on our approved supplier list, please discuss all plans with our operations team before confirming or paying any money to the supplier. The Kew Venue Hire team reserve the right to refuse the use any supplier should their services be available through one of our approved suppliers or should they not be able to adhere to our H&S policy or provide the relevant H&S information. For any events in the Temperate House, please note that only our accredited suppliers are permitted. Having an approved supplier list allows us to use suppliers who we know provide service to the high standards of delivery that we expect for all of our clients.
Our venues come with varying degrees of outdoor space which is included in your exclusive hire space and may be utilised for your event. As a backup however, an indoor option must always be hired alongside an outdoor space as unfortunately we cannot guarantee the weather forecast! We cannot allow any temporary structures such as tents or marquees on our lawns. In addition, gardens games are allowed on the lawns but please note no ball games or games which might puncture the lawns. The Gardens are a public attraction and although you have access to them while they are open to the public, we must ensure that the outdoor area that you use for your event will not impact on the experience of our day visitors.
We do not have a dedicated dressing room on site, we advise all couples get ready elsewhere and come to the Gardens dressed for their event. There is a range of local accommodation nearby if you would like to arrange for a changing room to be available throughout the day.
The Kew Gardens public car park is not ideal for events, as the car park closes an hour after the Gardens shut and is therefore unsuitable for evening events. Also, the car park is a located outside Brentford Gate which is a very long walk to our venues available for hire. We do, however, have a private car park situated on Kew Green which can be hired in addition to the venue hire fee, on weekends only, subject to availability. In addition, there is pay and display public parking around Kew Green, although we cannot reserve any of these spaces. In line with Kew’s green ethos, however, we encourage the use of public transport whenever possible for environmental and conservation reasons, and we are ideally located for several public transport services.
Hi all the amazing Kew team! We have made it home and are settling back in! Just to say a huge huge thank you as it was perfect! The day ran seamlessly and you and all the suppliers made it perfect from start to finish. We wouldn’t have changed a thing! You are a lovely team and it is an amazing venue! We would do it all again in a heartbeat (if we could get away with it we would be at the next showcase!) We will be sure to visit Kew again as it’s beautiful and will forever hold amazing memories. Thank you all so so much once again!
D and I are still reeling from the weekend, I cannot believe it was our wedding from these photos, it continues to feel so surreal. Everything was truly magical and everyone on the team was so wonderful to work with. We could not have asked for a better group of people to create something so beautiful. I am so proud.
Wow. What a truly magical day and we can't thank you and your team enough. Our guests had the time of their lives and truly in awe of Kew! For myself the day was so emotional and I was very overwhelmed (all in a good way), complete dream Wedding. T had the time of his life!
Thank you so much for being totally incredible in the run up to our big day and on the day itself. We couldn't have asked for a better, more perfect wedding and everything just ran like clock work; largely thanks to you. We've been inundated with compliments and amazing feedback from everyone who came - they were particularly blown away by the venue.
