The staff were particularly brilliant, incredibly calm and efficient without being intrusive at any point. Huge thanks to Emma, Kat and the whole team for making it so special. The food was amazing, with our guests genuinely surprised at the quality (and quantity!) The drinks were delicious with the bar staff really helpful and quick to serve. The decor was outstanding too. We had the most amazing wedding day at The Mowbray, after a beautiful ceremony at sister venue The Chimney House. The communication was flawless in the run up and we felt in such good hands. The staff on the day were absolutely brilliant, they looked after us and our guests so well and somehow made it look easy. The food was delicious and a big reason we chose this venue - so many of our guests said it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding! You do have to use their (brilliant!) chefs for evening snacks as well as the feast, which is considerably more expensive than getting e.g. a pizza van. Having said that, they work hard to accommodate any personal requests. If you're looking for a stunning, romantic venue with a team that genuinely cares then we can't recommend The Mowbray highly enough.

We headed over to the Victoria for our meal and reception. This place is something else! Again, it's so beautifully decorated! There is a rustic feel, gorgeous artwork on the walls, even the toilets look really cool. The whole place is very accessible, which is something that was important to us. The bar was also incredibly well stocked and catered to all of our guests preferences really well. The food was to die for, and is something our guests are still raving about. One thing that initially attracted us to the menu was the use of local produce and suppliers. The banquet style delivery of the meal worked really well, and everything tasted brilliant. The attention to detail was phenomenal! The team are very accommodating, we asked for an adjustment to the menu and they didn't hesitate. Overall, the team are happy to help with anything they can. All of the staff, from the planning team to the bartenders were brilliant! We really could not be happier with how our day went and couldn't recommend the Chimney House and the Victoria enough!

We were so glad we chose to have our wedding at Victoria! We'd always wanted to get married somewhere full of character and history that was local to us and Victoria was the perfect choice! Our guests are still talking about how amazing the venue, food and staff were and what a brilliant time they had! We planned our wedding within six months, having first viewed Victoria before it was even fully finished as a wedding venue — we fell in love with it the moment we walked through the doors. It had the atmosphere, beautiful styling, and ethos we were looking for, so choosing Victoria was an easy decision. From the very beginning, Lucy and the team were so helpful! Always available to answer any questions or queries - we truly felt in good hands, which made the lead-up to our wedding day completely stress-free. On the day itself, our ceremony in The Chapel felt really special - knowing it was previously a working chapel gave the space a real sense of history and meaning, making the moment even more memorable. Food to us was very important! The wedding 'feast' didn't disappoint - it was delicious! Everyone of our guests, even the fussy eaters, commented on how great the food was, 'the best I've eaten at a wedding'.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience with the team at Victoria... Everything and everyone was perfect, from start to finish of the whole process we felt completely relaxed and knew everything was being taken care of. We were able to customise the day with ease. Everything felt like it was there for us. We were able to use the team's expert knowledge to plan the day and the food! It's really difficult to put into words how perfect the day was and how much of that was down to everyone at the Victoria. Everything just looked amazing, it felt cool and unique. So many guests have commented on how great the venue, the food and the drinks were. I think what's most impressive is how the day felt completely like it had our stamp on it, and guests commented how much it reflected us as a couple, yet we both didn't feel the effort required to make that happen. We could just share our thoughts and the magic was made by the team.

We honestly cannot put into words just how magical our wedding day was at The Victoria. We chose September hoping for lovely weather, and even though it rained, it didn’t spoil a single thing. In fact, it made the day feel even more cosy and magical. The Victoria caters perfectly for both, it has a beautiful outdoor space for sunshine, but also such a warm, intimate indoor setting that felt so inviting when the rain came. From the food (which our guests are still raving about, especially the Basque cheesecake!) to the incredible atmosphere, everything was better than we could have imagined. The team made the day run seamlessly, and we honestly felt so well looked after from start to finish. It’s a day we’ll treasure forever, and we couldn’t recommend The Victoria more highly to any couple looking for the perfect wedding venue.

Well, what a party this venue can throw; we had an absolute blast! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience at Victoria. The venue was absolutely stunning and is a beautiful blend of vintage charm and modern elegance. With its carefully repurposed furniture and thoughtfully designed spaces, were a joy to celebrate in. The food was truly impeccable. Every dish was not only delicious but beautifully presented. Our guests gave us multiple compliments on the food and one said it was the best basque cheesecake he'd ever eaten. We couldn't have asked for better! As a gay couple, we felt welcomed and respected every step of the way. The team at Victoria made us feel comfortable, celebrated, and supported throughout the entire process, which made all the difference for us. Special shout out to Hope and Cat who supported us on the day and a thank you to both Lucy's, who supported the planning. Throughout the whole process, the staff were professional, kind, and went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. We got married at the Victoria and we could not recommend it more. We first visited the venue back when it was still somewhat a building site, but just knew already that it was where we wanted to have our wedding. It has been renovated and transformed into the most beautiful venue and was perfect for what we were looking for (we only looked here and the Mowbray!). From the start of planning to the actual day, the team have been outstanding; they were attentive, answered any panicky questions we had and were just incredibly lovely to deal with. The day itself was the absolute best day of our lives and was made so by everyone involved in organizing it, we didn’t have to do a thing on the day and were able to relax just knowing that they had everything covered. A big factor in choosing the venue (other than it being STUNNING) was the food; we’d both heard such good things and as massive foodies, we knew we wanted something special. We were blown away by it. From mingling in the courtyard being able to smell the food cooking from the firepit, to watching our loved ones tucking into the amazing feast – we couldn’t fault it.
