The most sought after venues in the city, particularly for Saturday celebrations in spring and autumn, can be reserved up to two years in advance and availability moves quickly once couples begin their search in earnest. For micro weddings and elopements, the timeline is more flexible. Many of our intimate venue partners can accommodate bookings within six to nine months, and in some cases even sooner depending on the date and day of the week. As a general rule: the earlier you reach out, the more options we have to work with. Paris is never short of beautiful rooms, but the right one for you is worth securing as soon as you are ready.

Yes, but it requires careful planning. A legal civil ceremony in France must take place at the local mairie and requires at least one partner to have been continuously resident in that commune for a minimum of 40 days before the ceremony. For most international couples flying in from abroad, this makes a legal French marriage difficult to arrange practically. The route most of our couples choose is to legalise their marriage at home, either before or after their Paris celebration, and hold a symbolic ceremony at their chosen venue in Paris. This requires no residency, no French paperwork, and changes absolutely nothing about how the day looks or feels. It is the most beautiful and practical solution for the vast majority of destination couples. If a legal French marriage is important to you, we will guide you through every step of the process. It is entirely achievable with the right preparation and lead time.

Not at all, and this is where having the right planner makes all the difference. If you are having a legal civil ceremony at the mairie, the ceremony itself is conducted in French, so a translator is recommended if neither party speaks the language. Any official documents submitted as part of the marriage process must also be in French or accompanied by a certified sworn translation. For couples choosing a symbolic ceremony, which is the route most of our couples take, none of this applies. Your ceremony can be conducted entirely in English, or in any language you choose, by an officiant of your selection.
