Inspiration

Amy here. This is my last real wedding for you as I step away into the shadows to solely focus on The List, our exclusive directory {members Alive Network, provided the entertainment for this wedding no less} and frankly, it's a corker to leave on. French Rustic with Tumbling foliage, big white blooms and a touch of Boho in the form of dress perfection, Ella from Made with Love.  Firstly, the engagement, after a six-year courtship that started at university, this groom secretly flew out to Orange County, CA, gatecrashing his loves family holiday to propose as a surprise, on a beach with candles.  Secondly, if you're not growing your hair for your wedding this will have you booking in for extensions to mimic the total boho chic vibe this bride pulls off sensationally.  Finally, this couple demonstrates perfectly how you can create your theme together, bond over DIY and how by hitting markets, antique shops and reaching for the hammer you can create the props of your dreams.  An absolutely divine day captured by natural, romantic photographer Charlotte Bryer Ash making this her Rock my Wedding Debut.

French Rustic Style with DIY Decor

Laura & Sebastian: The style I love is French rustic and Hannah Berry Flowers style reflected this. I wanted lots of green foliage, big white blooms with lots of movement. I wanted to create a unique top table and we came up with the idea of having trailing foliage all the way down to the floor. Hannah Berry Flowers did just that if not more. Hannah and her team really took our breath away when we first walked in and saw the vision come to life. A lot of time was spent planning, collecting and making! My biggest style influence was based on the French brocante markets and rustic French Maisons. We created this by finding unique props at various antique markets such as Kempton and Ford Airfield. Some of my favourite finds were French shutters which we used for our table plan and empty frames and ladders that we hung our engagement pictures from. We found old mirrors on which I wrote our honeymoon activities so guests could see where their gifts were going. I also love calligraphy and had done a course to help me decorate the props. We spent many weekends creating unique and personal signs made from wooden pallets. Seb would construct them and I would paint and write. We made welcome signs, boards, a huge signpost of all the places we had travelled to as well as huge photo boards with old pictures of our guests. It was so wonderful to see them all together and we loved the whole process of making them.

Charity Donation Favours.

For our wedding favours, we worked with Hannah from Yellowstone Paperworks to create something special in memory of Seb’s mother, Sue. Sue passed away from cancer and we made a donation to Cancer Research in our guest’s name.
