Inspiration

I'll just give you a minute (or two) to stare at Leigh-Gail's couture wedding dress because it is an absolute showstopper! As is the whole of this black-tie wedding at Cavalli Estate in South Africa. Decked with luxury gold decor and hanging flowers, plus soo many emotive moments captured by, Recommended supplier, Lynn Shapiro Photography. From the getting ready portraits to the bouquet toss and first dance, we here for it all.

Couture wedding dress with feathers for a luxury wedding in South Africa.

We planned our wedding during the thick of the pandemic. We could not meet with most of our suppliers until lockdown restrictions were lifted. This taught us to trust (based on recommendations) and to enjoy your day as if you were a guest. Don't put so much pressure on yourself to have this perfect day and not enjoy every little moment. The day goes by so fast- be present and be in the moment. Everything will pan out as it should. Hire a planner to ensure everything runs smoothly so that you not inundated with small issues.

CEREMONY

Our ceremony was very spiritual. We had our reverend who gave a powerful sermon on marriage. Hillsong played as our guests sang along. This reminded us that the day is made possible only by and through God. It's an institution created by him.

COUTURE WEDDING DRESS

We went for a black-tie dress code. We both love our couture wedding dress and custom made suit. Tailored perfectly to our bodies using the best local suppliers who could offer us something unique for our day.

MEMORIES

We have many beautiful memories from our sophisticated wine farm wedding. Walking down the aisle especially and saying our vows was tear-jerking and had all the feels. The first dance was also such a vibe.

Leigh-Gail & Xola

Xola & Leigh-Gail hired a planner to ensure everything ran smoothly at their wedding.

Our photographer was very well prepared. We met online (due to the pandemic) and she went through a comprehensive list of details in terms of what we envision for our day. That was executed to the finest detail and made the day so special. She felt like a part of our guest list, made us super comfortable and coordinated the list of 'must-have photos seamlessly. She worked effortlessly with the videographer even though they only met the day of the wedding. Her versatility and adaptability are commendable.

Leigh-Gail's couture wedding dress was a gorgeous feathered lace gown by Biji La Maison. The same designer who dressed Miss Universe Zizi Tunzi's gown. And what a show stopper it is! Real bride Hannah and real bride Avril also wore feather wedding dresses, and we can't get enough!
