Inspiration

After being together for so many years Amy and Lee were determined to say their I do's in 2020. They embraced the Coronovirus restrictions and planned a micro wedding at Chester Town Hall in a couple of weeks. Amy wore a fitted lace dress with bell sleeves and an incredible hand-embroidered veil. She completed her look with a flower crown and dried flower bouquet she made herself. The big party is planned for May 2021, but they will always have Chester, and these wonderful captures from recommended suppliers Taylor-Hughes Photography.

Planning & Decor

As we were unsure if the day would go ahead we made all our decisions last minute. Family and friends provided all the food and drinks and were from a combination of places Lee stumbled upon on a bike ride. The brewery we ordered from is one of our favourite bars in Chester. Our flowers and buttonholes were made from flowers I had dried over the years mixed in with ones from the garden, and all the table decor was collected from charity shops.

Embroidered Veil

Amy and Lee both agree that seeing each other in the ceremony room for the first time was their favourite moment. They had both kept their outfits a mystery to one another, but had managed to coordinate perfectly! Amy wore a boho wedding dress with bell sleeves and embroidered veil, and Lee chose a brown cord blazer and bow tie. We also love that Amy slipped on a customised sequin jacket to walk up the aisle in. Serious style goals.

Inspiration & Styling

The inspiration and styling behind our micro wedding was laid back vintage. But, in reality, it was a go with the flow, throw it together, last-minute kind of vibe. We were genuinely waiting for the government to take a u-turn on their COVID wedding rules and put a stop to our plans. We had already postponed our original wedding date to May 2021, but we were determined to still say I do in 2020. It was only a few weeks before we were married we started to make final decisions.

Advice & Thanks

Our photographers were amazing. We were both really anxious about having our photos taken but they made us feel super relaxed. Also, our friends and family were awesome, we would not have got everything done without them. Being a perfectionist, I found it hard to let go a first, but my advice to anyone is, take all the help you can get and delegate! It will make your day that much more relaxed.
