Inspiration

What happens when you take a wedding florist, a groom and 16 guests to Kinmount House in Scotland? They throw the intimate wedding of a lifetime with neon signs, a bathtub and incredible florals. Oh my, the florals! An autumnal boho explosion of colour, texture and beauty, they were everywhere from the aisle to Ash's personalised fedora from Recommended supplier Rebecca Anne Designs. (We'll come to that killer hat later...). But first, a moment of appreciation for the wonderful creativity here. And if you like orange and all things boho, let us tell you. You're in for a treat...

Intimate boho wedding at Kinmount House, Scotland.

It not every day a wedding florist get her turn to be the bride and the florist! It was a quirky and very flowery autumn wedding with lots of fun - proving that small doesn't not have to mean tight budget and no party!

THE STYLE

I'm a real wild child at heart so had to have a western style wedding. As a florist who wears boots all year round I was never going to wear heels on my day... It was cowboy boots all the way along with cow print nails and a cowgirl hat and veil from Rebecca Anne Designs.

THE DAY AT KINMOUNT HOUSE

We had an intimate bride/groom reveal via a boat for a two-hour photoshoot before the ceremony. There, we exchanged speeches to one another, boat tripped along the Kinmount House lake, danced on top of a defender and then danced in the woods! We did a reveal to our guests pre-ceremony and walked down the aisle together.

FLORALS

Being a wedding florist I've seen and done it all! But autumn is my very favourite time of the year and I love colour. I've always been a bit quirky and never been traditional. I've always been drawn to western and boho styling, and as Kinmount House was a new venue I was keen to style a wedding for them that was out of the ordinary!

Don't feel you have to stick to tradition, if you want to dance on a Defender at your wedding, then don't let anyone stop you!

Any advice to couples? Don't tell people your plans - no one needs to know - they just need to turn up and the more surprises the better! If you want to see the person your marrying before anyone else then just go for it - your day your way. Don't be afraid to use colour - the more colour the better the photos. Finally, don't look and think about the weather at all.
