Garthmyl Hall

The beautiful historic grade II listed property Garthmyl Hall, Powys, Wales is situated on the Wales/ Shropshire border. This stunning venue serves couples from Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire and all over the country for their perfect country wedding. We made use of the entire property including the main hall, stunning bedrooms, gorgeous walled gardens and their amazing summer house. Each location was the perfect backdrop for our inspiration. We even incorporate the venue's fairground carousel pony!

Pastel Flowers

We wanted to achieve a modern yet accessible look with a touch of a darker, more mysterious side. So we focused on pretty dried and preserved florals including pampas grass and preserved roses in warm neutral shades. There were also soft pastel shades including lilac, pink and yellow. All this offsets perfectly with our groom with his darker, edgier look. Our table styling was the ultimate in pretty with added pampas. This was showcased perfectly with the cake table with its unusual and graphic cakes topped with pretty pastel flowers.

All the flowers used were dried and preserved - they not only look original and striking but they live long after the wedding.

As with the inspiration, for the fashion, we wanted to showcase two sides to our inspiration shoot. The first outfit was a softer feminine look, with a long silky gown and beautiful back detail. Then we choose a fun short wedding dress, with killer heels and a bow veil. Makeup focused on a sultry dark eye and natural pretty lip. Our guy was dressed in a darker look with a velvet blazer, untied bow tie, waistcoat, watch chain and lots of statement jewellery.

Recommended florist Horsehoe Flowers' mantra is to make your wedding flowers stand out! She mixed fresh pastel flowers with her signature dried and preserved flowers to create this impressive floral installation in Garthymyl Hall's summer house. And, I don't know about you, but we've pinned every image! We're also loving the wedding sunglasses and bow hair accessories which are bang on trend.
