Inspiration

When Pembroke Lodge meets an intimate wedding complete with a Jesus Peiro Bridal gown, you know it’s going to be a must-see. Sarah & Ade spent two years planning their big day, but unfortunately didn’t plan for a pandemic! After multiple postponements, they decided they couldn’t wait any longer. Marrying at the church Sarah has been attending since a little girl and where her parents were married. Their style was simple, timeless and classic, complete with vintage cars, morning suits and stationery from Recommended Supplier, Lilac & White. Their day was beautifully captured by Recommended Supplier, Fiona Kelly Photography.

Intimate Pembroke Lodge wedding with The Wedding Shop Gift List

We wanted a relaxed sophistication, a simple, timeless, classic style. Having settled on the beautiful venue, the next decision was the wedding dress, and everything else followed on from there. We chose what we liked without worrying too much about a theme. On the day, the sun was shining and it was a day filled with happiness and joy. "Fun in the sun," Ade says.

Pembroke Lodge

I had always wanted to get married at the church my family had been going to since I was born. It is also where my parents got married. We looked around for reception venues nearby and found Pembroke Lodge. Which was really the only place I'd wanted since growing up near Richmond Park. Naturally, we looked at recommended suppliers from the venue itself! As well as some from wedding websites such as Rock my Wedding. We were living in New Zealand at the time and were grateful that we could book and arrange everything over the internet.

FAVOURITE MOMENTs

Neither of us stopped smiling or laughing all day. Several favourite moments - seeing each other for the first time in the church was really emotional. Getting ready with the girls after not seeing each other for ages. We were allowed a first dance but the guests had to be seated, so I was dreading it, but we danced to It Must Be Love by Madness once in the kitchen and laughed all the way through, so we did the same again and just had fun, and we loved it!

Isn’t Sarah’s Jesus Peiro gown absolutely stunning?

The hours we spent planning and stressing! I was so worried I had chosen the "wrong" thing or that there may be a better choice if I looked harder. When we had to change plans and deal with so much uncertainty, we realised that the small details really didn't matter. We had our family and each other, the bridesmaids and our friends were so supportive and I barely noticed anything on the day as I was just feeling overwhelmingly happy.

Sarah & Ade

Pembroke Lodge provided the perfect space for Sarah & Ade’s intimate day. We absolutely love the timeless classic vibes throughout. Oh, and of course their sparkler exit… who isn’t obsessed with that!?
