Inspiration

This beautiful pink and blue wedding theme has given us a new fave colour scheme! Not wanting a large wedding, Mel & Will decided upon an intimate 14 guests at Euridge Manor. Wanting a fun and romantic feel to the day, this gorgeous couple chose pastel colours, such as light blues and dusty pinks. The bride kept a few gothic elements to the day, such as her leather jacket and Dr. Martens (LOVE). Unfortunately Mel’s mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer in April, and they were unsure as to whether she would be well enough to travel to the wedding. However, she made it and was able to walk her down the aisle, as well as spend the entire day with them. A beautiful day captured by Recommended Supplier Kirsty Mackenzie Photography.

Pink and blue wedding theme at Euridge Manor

We never wanted a big wedding, so we had 14 guests, the white dress, the florals, the wedding breakfast and that amazing row boat. It turned out to a day we never realised we really wanted.

VIBE

I have a quite gothic style but we wanted to surprise our parents with a romantic vibe and pastel colours. I had the bridesmaids in blue and pink, my bouquet had gorgeous blues and dusty pinks including little Forget Me Not flowers. They were my late grandmothers favourite flower. My traditional white wedding dress made my husband cry, he wasn't expecting that. I took inspiration for the wedding from Kirsty's True Romance shoot, we both love that movie. I kept some gothic elements to the day with my custom white Dr Martens, and black leather bridal jacket.

ADVICE

Things are going to go wrong, it does not matter how carefully you plan things, these things happen. Everything will work itself out and even if it doesn't all that matters is that you are marrying the love of your life and they are going to be too excited about marrying you to care about the little things. Enjoy every second of your day because it goes by in the blink of an eye.

FAVOURITE MOMENT

We hadn't seen my mum for nearly two years due to the pandemic and sadly she was diagnosed with terminal cancer in April this year. It was really touch and go whether she would be well enough to travel to our wedding. I loved her walking me down the aisle, but to be honest, I loved the whole day because she was there. Watching her happy cry, laugh and smile meant the world to us.

We are seriously obsessing over this beautiful weddings tablescape. The pops of colour work so well!

I would like to give a huge shout out to Wed2b Belfast. I called them and explained I purchased my wedding dress in one of their English stores last year, and my mum wasn't there due to the pandemic, that she was terminally ill and may never get the chance to experience wedding dress shopping with any of her daughters. They arranged an appointment for us and let me try on as many dresses as I liked for her. My mum was so happy she got to have that experience, it meant the world to both of us.
