Inspiration

You can see just how much being married meant to Sadie and Steve at their intimate Southover Grange Gardens wedding. From the first look, through to the ceremony, outdoor drinks reception and a short walk through the village to the reception there are happy tears, smiles, laughter, and overwhelming joy from them, their guests and passers-by.

What Made Our Day Unique

That an entire street of locals joined in with throwing confetti and playing music as we walked from the ceremony to the reception venue. It was a complete surprise organised by our host and was a moment we will never forget. The relief we both felt after the ceremony had gone ahead. We didn't want to postpone as ultimately we just wanted to be married and the big party can wait. With so many question marks due to COVID, it just felt amazing to have done it.

Southover Grange Gardens

I think Sadie and Steven stumbled across the secret garden when they found Southover Grange Gardens in Lewes. Such an idyllic place to gather your family for a socially distanced drinks reception. With views of the Grade II listed manor house, and the prettiest flower beds and florals providing picturesque backdrops for couples portraits too.

Inspiration & Styling

We wanted to embrace the need to keep the group small due to the guidelines, so made sure to not put pressure on people to travel, buy any expensive outfits and just prize spending time together. We always wanted dried flowers, but this seemed to fall in neatly with not only the beautiful flowers in the gardens of Southover Grange but also in case we had to cancel everything last minute! Also, Sadie grew up in a house where there were always candles so we incorporated that by making sure the tables were set with plenty of candlesticks.

Advice

We were really lucky that neither of our families had big plans for us and supported us in doing things our way. Advice and opinions on weddings can be stressful enough at the best of times, let alone when planning a wedding in a pandemic, and being responsible with restrictions. So just do whatever makes you happy.
