Planning

Have you thought about your wedding hat? We’re talking bridal, Mother of The Bride, and groom… well, if you haven’t, you’ve come to the right place. We’re coming at you head on (tehe, pun), with a whole hoard of inspiration. A wedding hat can seriously elevate your look, and add a little something extra. A bridal jumpsuit and trilby? Oh, we’re here for it. So, whether you’re looking for something with a modern vibe, or more classic styling, we’ve got you covered. So, it’s time to get your scroll on!

Wedding hat inspiration

Bridal Hats

Let’s talk bridal. Specifically, bridal hats. Let’s begin with a little Bridgerton energy; a more classic style that was brought back by the popular Netflix show. Think lace gowns, high necks, and big hat energy. So, if you’re seriously into that look, you can find it perfectly captured in this Italian themed micro wedding. The floppy straw hat works perfectly against the romantic ruffled gown. Or perhaps you’re looking for something a little different? We’re all about the short bridal gowns, Dr Martens wedding shoes, now pair that with a stylish fedora? Oh, you’ve got yourself a serious look. Remember, your wedding hat doesn’t need to stay on for the entire day. You can simply choose to throw it on for some seriously chic couples portraits. So, in short, it’s a big old yes from us.

Straw Wedding Hat

It’s giving us Little House On The Prairie… but with a side of fashion. Actually, we love a straw hat. An adorable addition that provides a little boho chic look. If you’re loving the look already, then don’t miss out on Lola & Virro’s wedding day, because if there’s one bride who is seriously pulling it off… then it’s this lady right here! We absolutely love the floral embellishment, or tied around the front with a bold ribbon. Add a pair of statement earrings and you're good to go...

Floppy Hats

Could this be the look for you? Well, a number of our brides have pulled it off… and for good reason! This flirty little number is a beautiful addition, and whether you’re looking for that Bridgerton Bride vibe, or something a little more classic, we’ve got the inspiration you could be looking for to ensure you find the right floppy hat for your Big Day! In fact, real bride Susie has seriously pulled off the look…

Wide Rim Hats

Now, we must say, real bride Sarah-Jane seriously set things on fire in her Net-A-Porter wedding dress, and of course, she accessorised to perfection with her wide rim hat! We just love how chic she looks for her intimate Marylebone Town Hall wedding. Complete with loose curls to frame your face, it’s a serious winner in our eyes. Oh, and a personalised touch too? Our brides are really ahead of the game with this one...

Fedora Hats

Now, we have plenty of brides who have absolutely smashed their look with a Fedora. From real bride Chelsea, in her incredible Nadine Merabi trouser suit complete with pearls, to Sarah, in her wedding jumpsuit and cape. Honestly, the vibes are immaculate. A fedora is just one of those hats that seems to suit everyone. So, pair with your favourite sunglasses and get ready to head down the street for those all-important couples portraits.

Beret Hats

If you’re feeling an Emily In Paris moment, but with a side of wedding, then the beret is for you. It’s also the perfect opportunity to add a veil! The two seem to work fabulously alongside one another. Since the Juliet Cap has made a serious comeback recently, adding a beret provides a modern twist that we can’t get enough of.

Groom Hats

We’d like to start a petition for more grooms to get their hat on, because we’re loving it! Could this look from Kevin & Sarah’s wedding be any cooler? The answer is no, it can’t. That velvet blazer, that fedora, that STYLE. We’d also like to take a moment to appreciate this boho look, complete with braces and checkered trousers - you know we love something a little different. Hey, even if you’re feeling a little Peaky Blinders number, we’re pretty certain you could get away with it these days (thank you, Thomas Shelby, for bringing that one back). Although, we’d still suggest staying away from a cap, we’re unsure whether that one will ever make its way into weddings…

Mother of The Bride Hats

Now, we’d say this one is pretty big. From fascinators, to bows, to all out hats, there’s plenty of options available. Something you may want to consider is speaking to the bride and seeing if there’s a specific colour or style she would like you to wear, potentially matching with herself or the bridesmaids! Fascinators have become an incredibly popular option in recent years, allowing you to move away from the tradition of a hat and into something a little more modern. Don’t be afraid to play around with colour if your dress allows it! Now, don’t let us stop you… get hat hunting!

Have we tempted you with a wedding hat yet...?

Now, we’ve given you wedding hat inspiration, but can we tempt you with more? From wedding jewellery, to the popular pearl wedding trend, to grooms suit ideas, we’ve got everything. Head on over to our Planning section for all that good stuff, and everything in-between.
