FAQS
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR SHOOTING STYLE?
Suuuper relaxed and low key. Other than the gentle coordination of family groups portraits (if you want them) I am a fly on the wall. This style is generally called reportage or documentary wedding photography.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS RUBBISH?
I often ask my couples not to become meteorologists in the run up their wedding day. I have photographed some of my fave weddings in sleet and snow – proper wellie weather! While a bit of rain can make for challenging conditions, I always suggest we get stuck in and ignore it, pop a pretty umbrella and go for a stroll.
WHAT IF I GET STRUCK DOWN WITH THE LURGY AND CANNOT PHOTOGRAPH YOUR WEDDING?
This is an issue that gives ALL wedding photographers the odd moment of worry. Firstly, I have never missed a wedding through illness – NOT EVER, NEVER. I would have to be actually hospitalized to miss a wedding shoot! But if by chance it happens I do have back up photographers that shoot in a similar style to my own that are aware of my wedding dates and able to step up if needs be.
DO I SHOOT GROUP PORTRAITS?
Short answer – yes. I recommend keeping the family group list to a maximum of 10-15 groups, you don’t want to be away from your own party for too long. Just after confetti is often a good time to get the families done before too many drinks have been consumed and the oldies have wandered off!
HOW LONG IS THE TYPICAL COVERAGE OF A WEDDING?
Firstly, there is no typical wedding. If I am booked for a full day then I usually arrive an hour and a half before the service to capture imagery of the bride and her gang getting ready. I often drop in on an Ushers lunch or a pre-wedding drink with the groom and the fellas. I usually stay an hour or so after the first dance but if you want me to stay longer then I am happy to chat.
